Role Overview

We are looking for an AI Application Engineer with strong software development fundamentals, curiosity about AI-assisted development, and a practical mindset. You do not need to know every tool listed above, but you should have the technical foundation, the ability to learn quickly, and the desire to help establish modern engineering practices for AI-generated applications.

The mission is to help business teams successfully transform AI-generated prototypes into secure, scalable and production-ready applications. Business stakeholders will typically own the product vision and create initial prototypes using AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable and similar platforms. This role bridges the gap between those prototypes and enterprise-grade software.

Who You'll Work With

You will work closely with business users creating AI-generated prototypes, the ReDataset engineering team, infrastructure and security teams, and other technical stakeholders across the Group. Your role is to enable successful delivery—not to define product requirements, but to ensure applications are engineered correctly for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated applications and assess their readiness for production.
• Improve architecture, code quality and maintainability of AI-generated applications.
• Integrate production backends including Supabase, PostgreSQL, FastAPI and third-party APIs.
• Implement authentication, authorization, database design and application security best practices.
• Deploy applications into production and establish appropriate environments, secrets and release processes.
• Support business teams in overcoming technical limitations of AI-assisted development platforms.
• Define reusable engineering standards, templates and best practices for AI-assisted application development across the Group.
• Evaluate emerging AI-assisted development platforms and recommend improvements to the Group's development approach.
• Provide hands-on software development whenever additional engineering work is required.

Key Skills

Required

• Software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, Bolt, Windsurf, Replit or similar).
• Experience deploying web applications into production.
• Strong understanding of backend development, APIs and databases.
• Experience with technologies such as Supabase, PostgreSQL, FastAPI or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn rapidly evolving AI technologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience with application security and secure software engineering.
• Knowledge of Cloudflare, Aikido, Snyk, Rafter or similar security tooling.
• Understanding of OWASP principles, RBAC, secrets management and secure authentication.
• Experience supporting multiple products or internal engineering teams.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
