About The Role
We are seeking a talented Lead Developer to join Theodo GovTech team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of digital projects tailored for the public sector, emphasizing user accessibility, sustainability, and societal impact. As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring high-quality architecture and code, and maintaining strong client relationships. You will work on complex features and system designs, ensuring they are feasible and aligned with project goals. Your expertise will help guide the development team, coach junior engineers, and uphold best practices through methodologies like code reviews and pair programming.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, participating in routine meetings such as backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and project reviews to ensure client satisfaction. Your leadership will also involve mentoring your team, fostering a collaborative environment, and supporting the professional growth of software engineers. This role offers opportunities for career advancement into senior architecture, community leadership, or intrapreneurship within the group, depending on your interests and aspirations.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience in software development
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Tech Lead or equivalent leadership role
  • Proficiency in complex web technologies, including front-end, back-end, databases, and infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong focus on code quality and architecture simplicity
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Knowledge of public sector challenges, accessibility standards, or experience working on public projects (bonus)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to model complex issues and solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build client relationships and facilitate team collaboration
  • Good pedagogical skills for explaining technical concepts clearly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects, maintaining high standards of quality and architecture
  • Design and develop complex features, ensuring they are feasible for development teams
  • Maintain and improve the quality of code and architecture through methodologies like code reviews and routines
  • Act as the main contact point for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and understanding of project progress
  • Participate actively in client meetings such as backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Mentor and coach Software Engineers, fostering their professional growth through routines like pair programming and code review
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members to support their development and address challenges
  • Promote best practices in software development and architecture within the team
  • Stay updated on technological trends and contribute to the technical community within the company
