Protection & Automation Engineer (Field Applications)

About The Role

We’re looking for a Protection & Automation Engineer (Field Applications) to join our Engineering & Field Applications (EFA) Department, that will specialize in Field Applications.

During Your Day, You Will

• Test on-site and commission protection and automation systems for transmission/distribution substations, power plants and mission-critical facilities (oil & gas refineries, data centers)
• Configurate and in-house test protection and automation devices (IEDs, PLCs)
• Conduct power quality measurements using high-precision devices
• Conduct preventive maintenance services to identify possible defects and propose improvements
• Primary electrical equipment testing services (CTs, VTs, Circuit Breakers, Power Transformers)
• Run post-event analysis and incident investigation services
• Design electrical schematics, panel layout drawings and prepare technical documentation using various CAD software and tools
• Provide detailed technical reporting

Audit protection systems and assess overall performance

To Be a Fit, You Will Need

• Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering
• Previous experience of 3-5 years in a similar role
• Knowledge of power systems analysis and protection theory
• Familiarization with Substation HV/MV Equipment and auxiliary LV equipment (MCBs, aux. relays, buttons, switches, etc.)
• Experience in secondary electrical equipment testing (IEDs, PLCs, etc.)
• Knowledge of protection and automation IED configuration packages
• Familiarization with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical)
• Electrical drawings design and understanding (supply and automation-oriented)
• Panel layout drawings design & understanding
• Boolean algebra logic design and understanding
• Experience in preparing technical reports and proposals
• Communication and collaboration skills
• Adaptability to change
• Positive & can-do mentality

Availability for on-site visits and participation in commissioning works

Nice To Have (not Required)

• Familiarization with IEC 61850 standard
• Experience in primary electrical equipment testing (CTs, VTs, TRAFOs, CBs, etc.)
• IEC 61131 PLC programming (Codesys, etc.)
