Terms of Service

Last updated: October 18, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using mentors.coach ("Platform," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

mentors.coach is a professional mentorship platform that connects IT professionals with experienced mentors. We provide tools and services to facilitate mentorship sessions, career guidance, and professional development.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

An account is not needed for everything: vacancies, the weekly list and the articles are open without one. An account is what keeps your work from being tied to a single browser. By creating one, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3.3 Ways to sign in

You can sign in with email and a password or with a Google account. There is one account either way: whichever way you come in on the same address, it is the same account and the same work of yours.

  • One person, one account. No separate registration step: if no account exists for that address, it is created on first sign-in
  • A password of at least eight characters. We keep only an irreversible fingerprint of it and cannot remind you of it — only help you set a new one
  • Changing the password ends every session on every device — that is protection, not inconvenience
  • Signing in with Google is also subject to Google's terms. We receive your email address and account identifier from them, but not your password
  • Do not share account access with others: anything done under it counts as done by you

3.4 Restricting access

We may temporarily restrict or close access to an account if we see password guessing, attempts to enter someone else's account, automated scraping, or other use that harms other users. Where possible we tell you at the account's email address.

3.5 Deleting the account

You can delete built resumes and unfinished conversations yourself at any time — that removes them from mentors.coach. A copy of a built resume stays in the tailoring service on dorokhovich.com: it, and the account itself, are deleted on request to hello@mentors.coach; we answer within 30 days. What is kept and for how long is set out in the Privacy Policy.

3.6 Letters we send

Two mailings go out by email, and they are separate from the letters about your orders and bookings, which are not a mailing at all.

  • The weekly list of vacancies in the direction you picked. You ask for it yourself on the vacancy page.
  • Letters about new guides and tools. Asking for the weekly list subscribes you to these as well — they go out only when something new is actually published, and never more than the list itself.
  • Unsubscribing is separate. Each letter carries its own one-click link, and leaving one mailing does not end the other.
  • Letters about payments, bookings and sign-in codes are not a mailing and have no unsubscribe: they are part of the service you asked for.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or mentors
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Scrape, copy, or download content without permission
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others

5. Mentorship Relationship

5.1 Nature of Relationship

The mentorship relationship facilitated through our Platform is professional in nature. Mentors provide guidance and advice but do not guarantee specific outcomes or career results.

5.2 No Employment Relationship

Mentors are independent contractors, not employees of mentors.coach. No employment, partnership, or agency relationship is created between users, mentors, and mentors.coach.

6. Payment and Delivery

6.1 Fees

Each service is purchased once, at a fixed total price in U.S. dollars (USD). By default that price is charged in full at the moment of order. Where we offer it, you may instead pay in a set number of instalments taken from your card on a schedule shown to you in full beforehand: the first is charged at the moment of order and the rest on the dates shown. Either way it is one purchase at the same total price — nothing renews, nothing is charged beyond the payments you agreed to, and a payment plan ends by itself once the last of them is taken.

Prices may change at any time. A change never affects an order already placed: what you were charged is what was shown when you ordered.

6.2 What you are paying for

You are paying for a defined volume of work, listed on the page of the service you ordered: the number of sessions and their length, the number of revision rounds for each deliverable, the delivery window and the length of any follow-up support.

You are not paying for an outcome. We do not sell, and cannot sell, an offer, an interview invitation or an employer's assessment of you. Whether the work is performed as described is judged against that list and the agreed number of revisions, not against a subjective impression of the result.

6.3 How delivery works

Payment happens once, at the moment of order. Delivery happens over time: depending on the service, from a few business days to three months. The applicable period is stated on the page of the service you ordered.

Delivery proceeds in steps. A step is performed when a session is held or when the materials for it are handed over.

6.4 Acceptance of a step

You have 5 calendar days from the moment a step is performed to raise objections to it. If no objection reaches us in that time, the step is accepted without objection.

The work requires your participation. If you do not supply requested materials or do not respond for 14 calendar days, the step counts as passed, and the period of access or support does not pause while you are silent.

6.5 Payment Processing

We use Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") as our payment processor. By providing payment information, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Stripe is a PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor.

You represent and warrant that: (i) the payment information you provide is accurate and complete; (ii) you are authorized to use the payment method; (iii) you will pay all charges incurred in connection with your account; and (iv) you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. All payment data is securely processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

6.6 Paying in instalments

Where instalments are offered, the plan is ours. We divide one purchase into a fixed number of card payments, we take each of them ourselves, and no bank, lender or buy-now-pay-later provider stands between us. The number of payments, their amounts and their dates are shown to you in full before you agree, and they do not change afterwards. On the site this is called paying in parts; the two names mean the same thing.

There is no interest, no fee and no charge of any kind for paying this way: the instalments add up to exactly the price of the order. Where a discount is offered, paying in full is a condition of it, so it does not apply to an order paid in instalments. The order is not more expensive because it is paid over time.

Work begins once the first instalment has cleared and is delivered in full, not in proportion to what has been paid. The remaining instalments stay owed after the work is delivered. If a payment fails we retry it and write to you; what you owe never grows, because we add no interest, no late fee and no charge for a failed payment. You may settle the balance early at any time at no extra cost and with nothing taken away, and you may change the card the plan is charged to at any time.

If an instalment does not go through, we retry it and write to you, once for that instalment rather than once per attempt. You can update the card at any time, and doing so is usually all it takes. An instalment still unpaid 14 days after its date is overdue, and from that day we may ask you for the outstanding amount directly and may stop taking the remaining instalments automatically. Nothing is added on that day or on any other: no interest, no late fee, no charge for a failed payment. The amount you owe is the part of the agreed price that has not been paid, and it never becomes larger than that.

A refund on an order paid in instalments follows the same staged rules as any other order and is made by us: we return what you have actually paid, according to those rules, and stop the instalments that have not yet been taken. Nothing further is charged after that.

6.7 Refunds

Refunds are staged: before the first session the order is refundable in full, less the payment processing fee; after it, in proportion to the steps not yet performed. The cost of the diagnostic part of a service is not refundable once it has been carried out. The Refund Policy states this in detail.

6.8 Chargebacks and Disputes

If you dispute a charge, please contact us first. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension or termination of your account. Where a dispute is raised, we provide the payment processor with the record of the order: when the terms were accepted, what was delivered and when, and the schedule of sessions held.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by mentors.coach and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content in connection with operating the Service.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE SPECIFIC CAREER OUTCOMES OR RESULTS FROM USING OUR SERVICE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, mentors.coach SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@mentors.coach. We will try to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days.

13.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and mentors.coach agree to resolve any claims relating to these Terms or the Service through final and binding arbitration, except as set forth below. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will administer the arbitration under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be held in Sheridan, Wyoming, or another location we agree to.

You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing us at hello@mentors.coach within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name and intent to opt out of the arbitration provision.

13.3 Exceptions to Arbitration

Either party may bring a lawsuit solely for injunctive relief to stop unauthorized use or abuse of the Service, or intellectual property infringement, without first engaging in the informal dispute resolution process described above.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our business is located in Sheridan, Wyoming.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under applicable consumer protection laws, which these Terms do not limit.
