Team/Role Overview
The Digital Transformation Lead is a strategic individual contributor who drives technology initiatives and digital innovation across payroll operations. This role combines deep payroll domain expertise with advanced technology knowledge to modernize payroll systems, processes, and capabilities. The position focuses on transformation program execution, technology implementation, and the adoption of cutting-edge payroll solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
What you’ll do:
- Digital Strategy Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap for global payroll operations, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and enhanced controls.
- Technology & Architecture Leadership: Design the payroll technology architecture, oversee system integrations, and manage the implementation of modern cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and automation tools.
- Process Modernization: Re-engineer and optimize payroll processes using digital methodologies to eliminate manual touchpoints, enhance accuracy, and implement employee self-service capabilities.
- Project & Program Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of payroll technology projects and transformation initiatives, managing timelines, resources, risks, and budgets.
- Stakeholder Advisory: Advise senior leadership on technology investments and strategy, serving as the subject matter expert on payroll technology trends and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary bridge between payroll operations, IT, HR technology, and other business units to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.
- Technical Solution Design: Translate business needs into technical specifications, configure payroll systems, lead testing efforts, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Data & Analytics: Implement advanced reporting, dashboards, and predictive analytics to provide business intelligence, improve data quality, and measure transformation ROI.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Research, pilot, and champion emerging technologies such as AI/ML to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within payroll.
- Change Management: Drive the adoption of new technologies and digital ways of working across the organization, managing the impact on stakeholders and processes.
What we’ll need from you
- 6-10 years of experience in payroll operations, HR technology, digital transformation, or related roles
- Minimum 3-5 years leading or contributing to technology-enabled transformation programs
- Proven track record of successful payroll system implementations and process digitization
- Experience working on cross-functional technology projects
- Hands-on experience with payroll system configuration, testing, and deployment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
