Java Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our fintech project – an administrative portal for the financial industry, designed to manage clients and billing processes.

This is not a role where you only follow instructions – you’ll analyze problems, propose solutions, and influence technical decisions, working closely with architect and team members.

In this role you will

➡️ Development and maintenance of services responsible for billing processes and client configuration.

➡️ Modernization and refactoring of legacy services supporting client management.

➡️ Collaborating with the software architect to define the system's long-term technical direction.

➡️ Analyzing issues and proposing technical and process improvements.

➡️ Participating in code reviews and ensuring high code quality.

➡️ Working closely with both business and technical teams to plan future stages of the platform's development.

➡️ Mentoring junior team members and actively sharing knowledge.

Must have

➡️ At least 5 years of professional experience in Java development.

➡️ Strong knowledge of: Java 21+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate/JPA, relational databases (MS SQL Server or similar), design patterns and software engineering best practices.

➡️ Hands-on experience with refactoring and modernizing existing systems.

➡️ Knowledge of integration technologies and protocols (REST, SOAP).

➡️ Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

➡️ Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to independently propose effective solutions.

➡️ Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).

➡️ Good command of spoken and written English and Polish.

➡️ Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams.

Nice to have

➡️ Experience with Angular (or other front-end frameworks).

➡️ Experience integrating with SAP systems.

➡️ Experience with cloud platforms (Azure is a strong advantage).

➡️ Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

➡️ Understanding of API Gateway concepts, JWT tokens, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and API lifecycle management.

➡️ Experience working with API Management and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.

➡️ Experience in the financial industry or with billing systems.
