Job Summary

To strengthen our Engineering team, we are seeking a Metrology Engineer who is passionate about measurement science, data analysis, and process improvement. In this role, you will take ownership of critical metrology equipment used to support advanced semiconductor manufacturing, ensuring reliable measurement systems that enable robust process control and high product quality. Working closely with Lithography, Process Integration, and Manufacturing teams, you will develop and optimize measurement capabilities, support new product introductions, evaluate and implement new metrology technologies, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the site's metrology equipment and continuously improve measurement capabilities used for dimensional, structural, and materials characterization.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate measurement methods and strategies that support manufacturing, process development, and new product introductions.
  • Define and maintain measurement methodologies, qualification procedures, and engineering standards.
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R, repeatability, reproducibility, bias, stability, and precision-to-tolerance evaluations.
  • Analyze measurement and process data using statistical methods to identify trends, evaluate measurement performance, and drive data-informed process improvements.
  • Monitor metrology equipment stability and measurement performance, ensuring robust process control and early detection of process deviations.
  • Collaborate closely with Lithography, Process Integration, and Process Engineering teams to define measurement strategies for manufacturing and new product introductions.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations by providing accurate, reliable measurement data and driving process capability improvements.
  • Lead or support the evaluation, qualification, implementation, and continuous improvement of new metrology technologies, working with equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Microtechnology, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Two to five years of experience with semiconductor metrology techniques used for dimensional, structural, or materials characterization.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Solid understanding of metrology principles, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and process capability.
  • Experience with semiconductor metrology techniques used for dimensional, structural, or materials characterization.
  • Practical experience operating, qualifying, or supporting semiconductor metrology equipment within a manufacturing or cleanroom environment.
  • Experience validating measurement methods and evaluating tool capability, stability, repeatability, and reproducibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, or similar software.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, process development, or new product introductions, including the qualification of new metrology technologies, is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and cross functional teams.
  • Fluent English is required. Basic German skills are advantageous due to regular collaboration with production teams.

Application Process
All candidates who wish to apply should submit a CV and cover letter outlining their interest in the position and how their skills and experience align with the requirements of the role.
