Architect / Engineer — AI Triage Tool

About the opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Software Developer to join us at the very beginning of building a new AI-powered SaaS platform for accounting firms
. Working closely with the founders, you'll play a key role in turning product ideas into scalable software. This is a unique opportunity to help shape both the technical architecture and the product itself from day one.

The platform is envisioned as the operating layer for modern accounting firms—a central hub connecting accountants, their clients, and the software they already use. By leveraging AI, workflow automation, and integrations with existing accounting systems, we're building a product that helps accounting firms operate more efficiently and deliver a better experience to their clients.

The product is backed by experienced founders and secured funding, with a strong focus on rapid execution and building an exceptional engineering culture from the ground up.

What you'll do:

• Design, build, and maintain a modern SaaS platform from the ground up
• Work closely with the Product Manager to translate customer needs into technical solutions
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows that automate operational processes for accounting firms
• Build and orchestrate AI agents capable of supporting complex business workflows
• Develop integrations with third-party accounting, payroll, and financial systems
• Design scalable APIs and backend services
• Contribute to architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices
• Prototype new AI capabilities and evaluate emerging technologies
• Collaborate with designers and product stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience shipping production applications using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) for real business use cases—not just chatbot prototypes
• Experience integrating third-party business software APIs (ERP, CRM, accounting, payroll, etc.)
• Experience building webhook-based messaging integrations and secure authentication/consent flows.
• Experience designing consent/opt-in data-access flows (e.g. reading a user's mailbox or photo library)
• Comfortable using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar as part of your daily workflow.
• Comfortable owning architectural decisions across complex, AI-powered products with multiple integrations and workflows (5 channels, 2 platforms, human-in-the-loop)
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, product-focused environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Dutch or European accounting and bookkeeping workflows
• Experience building GDPR-compliant data pipelines (e.g. consent management and data minimization)
• Experience with document processing, OCR, and intelligent classification.
• Experience integrating translation into automated workflow pipelines.
