We are currently looking for a
Backend Developer
to join
Joule
our new energy software company, part of our
Integrated Energy Utility Division
, based in
Paiania.

By joining this role, you'll play a key role in the development of scalable backend services and APIs, supporting data-driven applications and innovative solutions across the energy sector. You will work closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and energy domain experts to deliver reliable and high-performing solutions.

Your Role Will Encompass:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Python, Django and/or Flask.
• Working with PostgreSQL and MongoDB for data storage and processing.
• Developing data-driven solutions using Pandas and NumPy.
• Containerizing applications using Docker and collaborating through Git.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications in distributed and data-intensive environments.
• Collaborating with frontend developers, data scientists, and energy domain experts to deliver new features and solutions.

What You Bring to the Role:

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Django and/or Flask.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, Pandas and NumPy.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills.
• Experience with Golang and Gin, time-series data, or networking concepts will be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, or IEC 60870-5-104 (IEC104) will be considered an asset.
• Interest or previous experience in energy, smart grids, renewable energy, or industrial IoT will be considered an asset.
