  • Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Sales Support Engineer with a deep background in cloud infrastructure management, automation, scripting and SRE practices to join our team in Bangalore.

You will partner closely with Solution Engineers, Product Specialists and Solution Architects to provision, maintain and optimize robust infrastructure for high-stakes Proof of Concepts (POCs), Workshops and global Product Demos.

Beyond infrastructure management, you will drive automation—creating efficient deployments, optimizing cloud spend (FinOps) and utilizing GenAI tools to maximize team productivity.

This is a high-impact role where your expertise in Cloud infrastructure, DevOps and Data engineering will directly contribute to accelerating sales cycles and help close strategic deals by ensuring our technical demonstrations are reliable, secure and impressive.

You will report to the Manager, Sales Support Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Management & Automation:
  • Deploy and maintain high availability Demo, POC and workshop environments across multi-cloud platforms and on-premises environments
  • Develop automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual provisioning time
  • High Availability & Monitoring:
  • Partner with Cloud & Product Operations teams to ensure peak performance and high availability of Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) services across AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Establish and maintain SLAs for demo environment availability and performance
  • Observability & FinOps:
  • Monitor cloud resources using tools like Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch and pro-actively resolve infrastructure issues using ITIL Incident Management best practices
  • Implement FinOps strategies to optimize cloud costs
  • Security & DevSecOps:
  • Automate deployments using modern secure CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement security best practices including vulnerability remediation, patch management and access controls
  • Collaboration & Support:
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (Solution Architects & Sales Executives)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge base articles
  • Be part of the global development, operations and support team

Required Experience And Skills

  • Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, Data Engineering—ideally supporting technical sales, presales or customer-facing environments
  • Education: B.Tech / B.E or equivalent technical degree
  • Cloud & IaC Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Containerization & CI/CD: Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes and setting up secure CI/CD automation pipelines
  • Scripting & OS: Strong scripting skills (Python and Shell) alongside advanced administration of Linux (RedHat/Ubuntu) and Windows environments
  • Data & AI Tools: Familiarity with modern Data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Relational DBs), Data Engineering tools (Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Glue) and exposure to AI productivity tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, LLMs) to optimize daily workflows.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Informatica products (IDMC cloud services or traditional on-premises solutions like PowerCenter, IDQ or MDM)
  • Relevant Cloud and AI certifications

  • Deploy and configure Temporal/Camunda or similar Workflow Engine on Kubernetes (self-hosted, production-grade).
  • Design and implement SIM Activation workflow: activities for HSS, OCS, PCRF, Inventory update.
  • Implement SIM Deactivation workflow with compensation and rollback logic.
  • Implement Plan Change workflow (OCS quota update + PCRF policy change).
  • Design Inventory Management Database schema: ICCID, IMSI, MSISDN — 30M+ record scale.
  • Define workflow versioning strategy (Temporal GetVersion API or similar) — foundational for long-term stability.
  • Lead another developer on development tasks and code reviews from week one.
  • Order-triggered workflows: Order DB → Temporal/similar signal handler.
  • Network trigger handling: location updates → workflow signals via Kong API Gateway.
  • Retry policies, dead-letter handling, and alerting per workflow type.
  • Temporal production cluster operations and HPA configuration.
  • nd-to-end integration testing, load testing, runbook authoring.
  • Post go-live hypercare and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Must Have

  • 4–6 years backend software development experience.
  • Required: Hands-on experience with a workflow orchestration engine.

– Temporal.io strongly preferred — production experience with workers, activities, signals, timers.

– Camunda, Apache Airflow, or equivalent accepted if strong fundamentals.

  • Go or Java — must be comfortable building production services in at least one.
  • REST API design and implementation (designing APIs consumed by Kong API Gateway).
  • PostgreSQL — schema design, indexes, query optimisation for large datasets (10M+ rows).
  • BSS/OSS domain knowledge: provisioning flows, SIM lifecycle, telecom service activation.
  • Kubernetes — deploying and operating workloads on K8s (not just writing YAML).
  • Experience with event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis Pub/Sub .
  • Experience designing for failure: retry policies, idempotency, compensation logic, DLQ.
  • Ability to lead a junior/mid developer day-to-day Fluent English .

Strong Advantage

  • Direct Temporal.io production experience (SDK, worker configuration, namespace management).
  • Telecom network element experience: HSS, OCS, PCRF, SMSC interfaces.
  • Diameter protocol (Ro/Gy/Gx) — even basic familiarity is valuable.
  • Experience with mock-first development and contract testing.
  • Prometheus + Grafana — instrumenting and monitoring workflow engines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a telecom operator, MVNO, or telecom vendor (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, etc.).

What will the main responsibilities be?

  • Discovering problems, defining tasks, and solving them with guidance from more senior engineers
  • Designing and implementing automation and tooling, such as scripts, services, and dashboards, to improve incident detection and response, reduce manual work, and provide better reliability insights
  • Monitoring incidents in a production environment and supporting others during complex incident response situations
  • Troubleshooting platform-wide issues by understanding the bigger picture and guiding teams toward resolution of reliability-related problems
  • Collaborating with product and development teams to integrate reliability improvements into code and architecture
  • Continuously learning about Infobip’s development processes, technologies, system architecture, platform, products, and client segmentation
  • Actively participating in incident reviews and learning from incidents
  • Communicating problems and solutions at the right level of detail for different audiences involved in incident management
  • Sharing problem-solving knowledge within the team and the broader domain

More About You
High school diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree
3+ years in positions like:

  • Software Engineer / Backend Engineer / Full Stack Engineer, or
  • DevOps / SRE with strong scripting/programming experience

Deep Technical Knowledge In

  • Programming or scripting, with solid experience in at least one of the following:
  • Java
  • Go
  • Python
  • Bash / PowerShell
  • or similar technologies

Familiarity With Most Of The Following

  • Monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Networking and Linux fundamentals
  • System design, architecture, and distributed systems
  • Databases and querying languages, both SQL and NoSQL

You are also
proficient in English
