Job Description
Tieto Tech Consulting (MentorMate from 2001 to 2026) provides design-led, data-centric, and AI-powered digital engineering & consulting services to enterprises worldwide.

We are looking for a
Data Engineer
with experience in Databricks and Azure to join our growing data engineering community. In this role, you will help design and implement modern data platforms, scalable data pipelines, and analytics solutions that enable organizations to make better data-driven decisions. You will work closely with data architects, BI developers, and customer stakeholders, working in an Agile environment to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Spark/PySpark, and SQL
  • Designing and implementing data lakes, lakehouse architectures, and analytics platforms
  • Integrating data from multiple enterprise systems
  • Building analytics-ready datasets supporting BI, advanced analytics, and AI workloads
  • Optimizing Spark workloads, data models, and pipeline performance
  • Supporting data platform modernization and migration from legacy ETL solutions
  • Working in Agile teams with architects, analysts, and customer stakeholders
  • Contributing to engineering best practices, reusable patterns, and knowledge sharing

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 2 + years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles
  • Strong programming skills in SQL and Python/PySpark
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
  • Experience with Azure or AWS data services
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions
  • Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and data modeling
  • Experience with Git and modern development practices
  • Ability to work in Agile teams and a consulting environment
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills

A significant advantage would be

  • Experience in banking, authoritative reporting and manufacturing domains
  • Certifications in Databricks, Azure, or AWS
  • Experience in AI agent development and architecture, including Databricks Agent Bricks and Mosaic AI
  • Experience with data platform modernization or ETL migration projects
  • Experience with Delta Lake, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience with Power BI or other analytics tools
  • Experience working in international environments ‌

Required Skills (Must Have)

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (notebooks, clusters, jobs, Delta Lake).
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with Python or SQL.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of Delta Lake features (ACID transactions, time travel, schema evolution).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and optimize performance.
  • Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills (Good To Have)

  • Experience with streaming systems (Auto Loader, Structured Streaming).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD workflows (Git, DevOps pipelines).
  • Experience with orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, n8n, etc.).
  • Understanding of lakehouse architecture.
  • Exposure to ML workflows or MLOps.

Qualifications

  • 2–6 years of experience in data engineering or analytics.
  • Certifications in Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP are a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proactive attitude and ownership mindset.

Associate Data Analyst
, you will work with large datasets, support analytical projects and help transform complex information into meaningful insights for our clients. You will report to the Analytics Consultant and collaborate with experienced analysts and consultants, contribute to model development activities and help deliver high-quality analytical solutions.

What you will do:

  • Work on modern data platforms, analytics solutions, process automation and new AI-enabled capabilities across multiple business domains
  • Develop advanced analytical and data engineering solutions supporting data analysis and ad-hoc insights.
  • Develop scalable, cloud-native data platforms and pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud-native services.
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, engineering and partners to translate requirements into reliable, high-value data solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship, ensuring adherence to established engineering standards and quality procedures.
  • Develop data solutions using modern cloud technologies (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue or equivalent services).

Qualifications
What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the field of data analytics;
  • Experience designing data engineering solutions in AWS environments.
  • SQL expertise and programming skills (Python / PySpark preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, distributed processing and modern data architecture patterns.
  • Experience with integration patterns and secure data handling practices.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to collaborate with all kinds of partners.

Tieto Tech Consulting’s team in Bulgaria consists of 500+ professionals specializing in the development of tailored digital solutions in diverse industries.

We are looking for a
Data Engineer/ Data Modeler
to support the design and implementation of a modern Azure-based data platform. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on data engineering skills with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, structure unclear requirements, and translate them into scalable data models. The role is especially suitable for someone with experience in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Python/ PySpark, SQL, SAP source systems, data warehousing, and Power BI reporting enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and clarify business requirements from scattered or incomplete documentation
  • Work directly with business departments to align requirements, data definitions, and reporting needs
  • Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Design and implement data models for: Silver layer: normalized / 3NF model; Gold layer: dimensional / star schema model
  • Build and maintain medallion architecture in Azure Synapse, including silver and gold tables
  • Develop data transformations and pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python/ PySpark
  • Integrate data mainly from SAP source systems
  • Support data cataloging, governance, and lineage through Microsoft Purview
  • Use Azure DevOps for repository management, CI/CD, and project tracking
  • Enable reporting and analytics through well-structured datasets for Power BI

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Azure cloud data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with: Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Python/ PySpark, SQL, Data Lake/ Lakehouse architectures
  • Solid understanding of data modeling: 3NF / normalized models, Star schema/ dimensional modeling, Data warehouse design
  • Experience working with SAP source systems
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical data models
  • Experience with Git-based development and CI/CD, ideally in Azure DevOps
  • Good understanding of reporting needs, ideally with Power BI
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders

A significant advantage would be

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview
  • Experience in enterprise reporting, forecasting, or analytics platforms
  • Background in SAP-heavy enterprise environments
  • Experience with agile delivery and tools such as Jira/ Azure DevOps
  • Microsoft data engineering certification is a plus
