We are seeking a Senior Platform DevOps Engineer to strengthen our Middleware team as we transition critical messaging integration and API workloads to a modern containerbased platform The role is not tied to specific vendors or tools Instead we are looking for an engineer with handson experience across the full lifecycle of platform delivery from discovery and readiness assessment through secure platform foundations and automation to controlled production migration The successful candidate will help ensure that our platform is stable secure automated and operationally ready before and during production migrations

Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role

Responsibilities

• Platform Migration Enablement
• Contribute to discovery and readiness assessments for platform and workload migration and identify dependencies risks and appropriate migration sequencing
• Support phased migration planning and execution for middleware workloads
• Platform Foundation Operations
• Support the design build and operation of production grade container platforms
• Contribute to platform capabilities such as networking storage observability and backup and ensure environment separation and readiness for regulated workloads
• Participate in Day2 operations stability improvements and platform hardening
• Operating Model Standards
• Help define how teams deploy operate and support workloads
• Contribute to deployment standards runbooks and operational documentation
• Support predictable upgrades scaling and incident response
• Security Compliance Foundations
• Work with security and architecture teams to implement
• Access control and identity models
• Network isolation and security boundaries
• Certificate and secrets lifecycle practices
• Audit and logging requirements
• CICD Automation
• Help design and evolve standardised CICD and automation pipeline patterns
• Support Git based declarative deployment and promotion models
• Ensure rollback redeploy and recovery patterns are clearly defined
• Collaboration Knowledge Sharing
• Mentor team members and promote DevOps best practices
• Contribute to internal standards documentation and knowledge sharing
• Act as a bridge between Middleware Platform Security and Architecture teams

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles
• Practical experience with
• Containerised workloads
• Container orchestration concepts
• CICD and automation pipelines
• Image handling and Registries such as NexusArtifactory
• Tools such as DockerPodman TektonAzure Devops pipelines
• Experience operating platforms in enterprise or regulated environments
• Solid understanding of
• Security access control and secrets management
• Observability monitoring and operational troubleshooting
• Comfortable working across planning build operate and migration phases
• Strong problem solving documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and communicate clearly in English

Responsibilities
Infrastructure Ownership:
Lead, maintain, and scale multi-cloud infrastructure (primarily GCP) and core Kubernetes applications.

Platform Reliability & Evolution:
Drive architectural improvements to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across all services.

Automation & Efficiency:
Build robust CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows to reduce operational toil for the team.

Project Leadership & R&D:
Own technical initiatives from inception to delivery. Research modern tooling and run Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to elevate our stack.

Incident Management:
Participate in an L2 On-Call rotation (payed) and conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.

Documentation & Standards:
Maintain clean, up-to-date technical documentation and best practices across the platform.

Requirements
Must-Have Expertise

• Kubernetes: Extensive hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting production K8s clusters.
• Cloud & IaC: Strong background in GCP (or another major cloud provider) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Observability & Troubleshooting: Proven track record with Prometheus-based monitoring stacks and deep-dive application/infrastructure debugging.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Deep knowledge of GitLab (repository management, runner configuration, and complex pipeline creation).
• Linux & Scripting: Solid Linux fundamentals with proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
• Communication: Functional English proficiency to collaborate effectively across a global team and produce clear technical documentation.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with GitOps methodologies (ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts).
• Hands-on experience with Envoy or Envoy-based proxies/gateways.
• Familiarity with VictoriaMetrics for large-scale time-series data.
• Software development experience in a general-purpose language (e.g., Go, Python).
