Описание вакансии

Role Highlights

  • System Engineer
  • Location: Espoo, Finland or Warsaw, Poland
  • Department: Mission line of business
  • Reports to: Director Delivery and Support
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Workplace model: Hybrid
  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)

Why This Role Matters
This role supports the growth of the Mission business, specifically focusing on the assembly, configuration, and installation of ground systems for ICEYE Missions customers. These ground systems (small 24U server racks) process the satellite data into images. The systems are assembled in ICEYE HQ in Espoo, or at a sub-contractor in Warsaw, and are then shipped to customer locations, often military bases.

Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.

ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.

ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.

Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Successful ground system deployment and operation: Ground systems are assembled, configured, and installed correctly and efficiently at customer sites, leading to reliable processing of satellite data into images.
  • Effective customer technical interaction: Clearly explain technical concepts and work collaboratively with customer technical staff, internal stakeholders and partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring smooth system integration.

  • Adaptability and operational readiness: You must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapt to occasionally changing timelines and participate in an on-call rotation after onboarding to provide continuous support. The role requires occasional traveling to customer sites.

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise and experience working with similar technologies. Crucially, this includes advanced network management and firewall orchestration (installing/maintaining firewall rules, managing firmware, sub-network creation, and inter-network routing). Experience with Dell VxRail products, VMWare, and Kubernetes is required.
  • Automation Focus: Strict aversion to "click-ops." Candidates must possess the ability to create version-controlled configurations and leverage automation tools—including the proactive use of AI-assisted tooling—to build and execute automated deployment pipelines.
  • Communication: Good communication skills are essential as part of the work is to interact with customer technical staff. In the interview, candidates should be able to clearly explain their experience working with servers, storage, switches, and firewalls, and their experience working with customers.
  • Qualifications: Certifications of technologies and formal qualifications are expected.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment where timelines may be subject to sudden changes. Work requires occasional traveling, perhaps 10-15% of the total working time. Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation is expected after a 6-month onboarding period.
