About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer to join Theodo GovTech. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of complex digital projects tailored for the public sector. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing project quality, guiding technical design, and maintaining high standards of architecture and code quality through Theodo’s proven methodologies. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction by participating in routine meetings such as backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and project ceremonies.
As a leader within your team, you will be responsible for mentoring Software Engineers, fostering technical growth through routines like code reviews and pair programming, and conducting regular one-on-one meetings to support individual development. Your expertise will be vital in tackling complex requirements, designing simple and effective infrastructures, and ensuring that the development teams adhere to best practices and quality standards. Your role will also involve contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes and promoting a collaborative, innovative environment.
Career progression opportunities include evolving into a senior architect, becoming a thought leader by engaging in open-source initiatives and community building, or taking on an intrapreneurial role to develop new service offerings within the group.
Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience in software development
- At least 1 year of experience in a Tech Lead or similar leadership role
- Proficiency in complex web concepts including front-end, back-end, databases, infrastructure, deployment, CI/CD, and logs
- Strong knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
- Interest in maintaining high-quality code standards
- Ability to design simple, scalable infrastructure architectures
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members
- Bonus: Experience with public sector projects, accessibility, or familiarity with governmental digital initiatives
Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects with high quality and adherence to timelines
- Lead the design and implementation of complex features, ensuring feasibility for development teams
- Maintain and guarantee the quality of architecture and code through methodologies like 3S and routine practices such as code reviews
- Act as the primary client contact, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and managing expectations
- Participate in client meetings such as backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and project retrospectives
- Mentor and support Software Engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and pair programming
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to foster team development and address individual needs
- Contribute to the improvement of internal processes and promote best practices within the team
