As a
Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer
, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, driving cloud migration strategies, and ensuring effective collaboration across development and platform teams. You will define the technical direction for automation and software delivery processes, mentor engineers, and ensure the scalability, resilience, and security of cloud environments at scale. Your role will be critical in shaping DevOps strategy and cloud architecture, driving continuous improvement and technical excellence across AWS cloud environments.

 

This is a fully remote position that offers you the flexibility to work from any location in Armenia, whether it's your home or well-equipped offices in Yerevan or Gyumri.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the CI/CD strategy across multiple applications and teams, championing automation-first practices to maximize delivery efficiency
• Lead complex cloud migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions while optimizing cost, performance, and risk at scale
• Architect and oversee AWS cloud environments across multiple customers/projects, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and highly available
• Set and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards and best practices across teams
• Act as a technical escalation point for development teams on CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices, providing hands-on guidance and troubleshooting
• Define cloud monitoring and observability strategy, driving proactive cost and performance optimization across environments
• Own the end-to-end release strategy, ensuring reliable deployments and continuous delivery across cloud-based applications
• Mentor and grow engineers within the team, conducting technical reviews and supporting their professional development
• Contribute to architectural decision-making and represent the DevOps practice in client/stakeholder discussions

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting AWS-based production systems, including 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead role
• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, VPC, CloudFormation and IAM
• Advanced knowledge of AWS networking services: VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, Load Balancer, API Gateway, Security Groups and more
• Proven experience architecting and operating Kubernetes (EKS) and container orchestration at scale in AWS
• Strong command of monitoring/observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Data Dog, Prometheus), including designing alerting and optimization strategies at an organizational level
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, including designing reusable modules/standards
• Proven track record implementing and scaling CI/CD practices using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices such as IAM, encryption, and secure access control, with experience driving security posture improvements
• Advanced scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash or Shell) to automate and improve cloud operations at scale
• Solid experience with AWS Cost Management tools and driving org-wide cost optimization strategies
• Demonstrated ability to define technical direction, drive automation initiatives, and lead architectural decisions
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional and client-facing stakeholders
• English proficiency at B2+ level or higher

• Python/Go knowledge is a plus
• Native AI cloud services: AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure AI
• Experience designing, building, and operating AI agents and agentic frameworks

• Security Monitoring & Event Handling: Überwachung und Bearbeitung von Sicherheitsvorfällen im Security Operations Center (SOC)
• Störungsmanagement und Fehlersuche: Identifikation, Analyse, Eingrenzung und Behebung komplexer IT-, Netzwerk- und Sicherheitssystemstörungen
• Koordination von Field Services und 2nd Level und externen Dienstleistern bei Störungsbehebungen

As a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Leader based in Budapest, you will be leading a small, high-impact team developing the integration layer and developer tooling that enables AI-powered capabilities.

This role combines hands-on software development with ownership of technical direction, architecture, and delivery. You will lead complex software work packages end-to-end—driving design, task breakdown, implementation, and verification—while coordinating across teams.

As a senior engineer in this role, you will mentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and represent progress to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity. At the same time, you will remain deeply involved in coding and problem-solving, translating advanced imaging technology into solutions that make a real difference for clinicians and patients worldwide.

• Lead development, implementation, documentation and verification of complex software modules
• Realize innovative ideas together with local engineers and scientists based on project-oriented cooperation
• Champion strong engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, coding standards, documentation).
• Provide technical leadership across shared projects (scanner apps, Windows tools, streaming clients, C++ core, Python clients, web/app integrations).
• Own and guide architecture for Windows applications (C++/C#, COM/AppAPI, WPF/WinForms, LIB/DLLs, C-style APIs).
• Act as a technical lead for a team of software engineers working in collaboration on common projects.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C# (ideally both)
• Hands-on Windows desktop development (Visual Studio, MSBuild, WPF; WinForms).
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, pull request–based workflows, automated testing, documentation, and task tracking.
• Experience building and integrating static (LIB) and dynamic (DLL) libraries and developing C-style APIs between Windows applications
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and C++/C# best practices
• Experience in Agile development (sprints, planning, retrospectives, scoping, verification)

Your future duties and responsibilities:

You will join a team focused on modernizing IT operations and moving toward more automated, AI-driven ways of working. You will work with BMC Helix (formerly BMC Remedy), combining ITSM, monitoring, event management, observability, and automation to build more intelligent and increasingly autonomous IT operations. Your role will combine hands-on engineering with platform design and continuous improvement, with the long-term goal of enabling closed-loop and increasingly autonomous IT operations.

• Design, implement, and evolve BMC Helix and AIOps solutions, covering event management, correlation, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, service topology, and operational automation
• Integrate ITSM processes with monitoring and automation, connecting Incident, Problem, and Change Management with observability platforms and operational workflows
• Improve operational efficiency and reduce MTTA/MTTR through event enrichment, filtering, correlation, service mapping, topology modeling, and automated remediation
• Build and integrate automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, Rundeck, StackStorm, Jenkins, APIs, webhooks, and integration/iPaaS platforms
• Support observability and reliability practices across cloud and on-premises environments, including monitoring, health dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, service dependencies, and operational insights
• Help introduce AI-first capabilities into IT operations, including incident summarization, knowledge-based assistance, intelligent recommendations, and agentic automation, with appropriate governance and safeguards

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role:

• 4+ years of experience in IT Operations, SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Monitoring/Observability, ITSM, or a similar technical role
• Hands-on experience with BMC Helix (formerly BMC Remedy), BMC Helix Operations Management/AIOps, or comparable enterprise ITSM and operations management platforms
• Good understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management, and experience integrating ITSM with monitoring or operational tooling
• Experience with monitoring, event management, observability, CMDB/discovery, or service mapping technologies, such as BMC solutions, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, or similar
• Practical automation and integration skills using Python and/or Bash, REST APIs, JSON/YAML, Git, and automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible, Rundeck, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Experience working with Linux and enterprise infrastructure, ideally including containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud or hybrid environments, networking, TLS/certificates, and integration platforms. Excellent English communication skills are required; German is considered an advantage
