iOS Engineer

You’ll play a key role in shaping the SoundCloud mobile experience, helping users discover unique content and interact with the platform wherever they are.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SoundCloud’s apps across Apple platforms (iOS, Apple Watch, CarPlay), delivering responsive, high-quality user experiences
• Contribute to the modernization of our codebase by refactoring Objective-C and modularizing components using Swift and SwiftUI
• Build and optimize UI components using SwiftUI, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and platform consistency
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product, design, backend, and analytics—to define, build, and iterate on features Support experimentation and data-driven product development by integrating A/B testing and tracking into mobile features

Background & Experience

• Professional experience building iOS applications using Swift, with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, SwiftUI

For our location in Vienna, we are looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to architect, build, and maintain our next-generation Mission Critical Communications (voice, data and video). Will be integrated on the Mobile App Development team, working on new functions and features while adapting our flagship Mobile Applications to new devices ensuring the operation in high-stakes environments where reliability, latency, and security are paramount.

Your tasks

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, tailored for ruggedized mobile hardware and specialized handheld devices.
• Architect and implement low-latency real-time audio/video streaming and communication protocols, including SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and 3GPP MCX standards (MCPTT, MCVideo, MCData).
• Optimize background and foreground services to guarantee continuous connectivity, instant call setup times.
• Implement rigorous data security practices, including end-to-end encryption (E2EE), and compliance hardening for public safety standards.
• Establish rigorous testing standards, including automated unit, integration, and stress tests tailored for network jitter, packet loss, and low-battery scenarios.
• Partner closely with our cross-functional engineering squads, seamlessly following our established development processes and agile workflows to keep our release cycles predictable and code quality high.

Your qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience with a track record of deploying complex, high-reliability applications to production.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/UDP, WebSockets, IP networking, QoS) and real-time media streaming.
• Proven experience managing device power consumption, memory management, and performance profiling under constrained hardware limits.
• Strong background in writing robust, testable code backed by comprehensive unit and UI testing frameworks with a sense of quality for clean code, testing, and code Reviews.
• Passion for collaborating in an agile, interdisciplinary team while using our standard collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience with 3GPP Mission Critical Services (MCX) or Land Mobile Radio (LMR) is nice to have
• Familiarity with enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) rollouts is a plus
• Prior experience in public safety, defense, aerospace, or industrial IoT software development is an advantage

The Role

We are building the future of continuous health optimization at HLTH. Our biometric wearable lives or dies on the reliability of its data pipeline. We aren't looking for a traditional app developer who just hooks up UI views to REST endpoints. We need a Senior Flutter Mobile Engineer who specializes in Flutter to own it end to end: ensuring our app seamlessly wakes up, reconnects, restores state, and processes critical health data over low-power BLE streams without draining the user's device.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain the Flutter and Dart codebase along with the overall xplat architecture
• Create native bridging modules in Swift and Kotlin for platform-specific features and critical paths.
• Manage BLE connection lifecycles including discovery, reconnection, state restoration, MTU handling and reliable data transfer without excessive battery drain
• Integrate the mobile app with Supabase for authentication, database, realtime features and storage, and with Cloudflare R2 for raw and high-volume health data
• Build offline-first experiences using local storage solutions such as Drift together with secure storage and reliable data synchronization
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Fastlane for automated builds and releases to TestFlight and the Play Console
• Implement basic error monitoring with Sentry and track key product events through PostHog
• Establish codebase standards, make architecture decisions, and be an example for junios
• Work closely with the product owner and designers to turn requirements into polished mobile experiences

Who You Are

• Multiple production Flutter apps shipped to both the App Store and Google Play.
• Strong Dart and modern Flutter (Riverpod or Bloc preferred).
• Practical experience writing and debugging native Swift and Kotlin code for bridging and platform constraints.
• Hands-on production experience with Bluetooth Low Energy
• Experience owning or heavily contributing to mobile CI/CD
• Comfortable with asynchronous data streams, offline caching, and REST (or GraphQL) synchronization.
• Ability to work independently and make sound architectural trade-offs.



Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Flutter/Dart development experience
• Proven hands-on experience working with Bluetooth Low Energy in real-world environments
• Experience supporting BLE functionality across both iOS and Android
• Practical experience writing and debugging native Swift and Kotlin code for bridging and platform constraints
• Solid understanding of REST API integration and asynchronous application architecture
• Experience with secure storage, authentication flows, and modern state management
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, particularly around connectivity issues and device-level edge cases
• Experience owning or heavily contributing to mobile CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have:

• Background in IoT, wearables, smart devices, access control, or hardware-integrated apps
• Knowledge of mobile platform internals related to Bluetooth and background processing
• Experience with HealthKit / Health Connect.
• Familiarity with Supabase, Cloudflare R2, Sentry, or similar tools.
• Protobuf or binary protocol experience.

Compensation

• Pay Range: Based on region and experience
• Exact compensation will depend on a number of factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, level, years of experience, technical expertise, and other qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
