AT&T continues to expand and modernize its high-volume data warehousing and analytics platforms. We are looking for a
Senior Data Engineer
to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale ETL/ELT data pipelines in a high-volume data warehouse ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in large-scale data movement patterns and performance tuning, along with functional understanding of telecommunications domains such as billing, product, customer, and operational interfaces.

Main requirements:
Strong expertise in Python, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, and databases, including building scalable batch and streaming pipelines, data modeling, and data quality practices.

Big plus:
Strong experience leveraging agentic solutions practices to improve productivity, reduce defects, and accelerate delivery timelines.

As a
Senior Data Engineer,
you will design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large-volume enterprise data and support robust data quality checks and governance practices end-to-end.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lead data engineers to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical implementation plans.
  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large-volume enterprise data in Snowflake (or similar platforms).
  • Implement and operate data loading frameworks (batch, incremental, CDC, micro-batch, and streaming where applicable) with clear SLAs and operational observability.
  • Build and maintain automation for ingestion, transformation, testing, deployment, and monitoring across data lifecycle stages.
  • Implement and maintain data quality checks, reconciliation controls, and metadata/lineage standards to support production-grade reliability.
  • Leverage AI-fueled coding (AIFC) practices to improve productivity, reduce defects, and accelerate delivery timelines.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and mentor medior engineers on data engineering technologies and frameworks.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with Python and databases (SQL/NoSQL) for building production-grade data solutions.
  • Strong experience with Databricks and Spark for batch and streaming processing.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, performance optimization, and secure data access.
  • Strong experience with Kafka and real-time streaming data integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with cloud, Docker, and CI/CD practices for scalable, reliable deployments.
  • Strong experience with AI-powered IDEs and tools (e.g., Visual Studio, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Years of experience:

The individual starting salary within this range will depend on relevant factors such as the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, and education or training.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform regular analysis of business data; identify trends, anomalies, and insights
  • Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards for key business metrics
  • Execute data quality checks and prepare structured correction recommendations
  • Prepare statistical and operational reports for management audiences

  • Maintain and update data repositories, ensuring completeness and accuracy

  • Assist in establishing and documenting data governance standards

  • Support data migration and integration activities for new systems or processes
  • Dashboard & Visualization Development
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations
  • Automate recurring reporting processes where possible
  • Ensure dashboards are refreshed on schedule and data sources are validated
  • Train end-users on dashboard navigation and self-service analytics capabilities

  • Evaluate and recommend AI tools and platforms for analytics workflows (e.g., generative AI, ML models)
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual data processing and reporting effort
  • Leverage AI-assisted analytics to enhance data exploration, pattern recognition, and insight generation
  • Support the integration of predictive analytics and AI models into existing reporting frameworks
  • Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and share knowledge with team members
  • Ensure responsible AI usage aligned with Mondelēz data governance and ethics policies

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting role
  • Exposure to analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and ERP systems preferred
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, predictive analytics, ChatGPT, Copilot) and willingness to adopt emerging technologies
  • Strong analytical and data management skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Ability to work with large datasets and cross-functional teams
  • University degree (Bachelor's) in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
  • Fluency in English; additional language is an advantage

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Meet These Requirements

  • Core data engineering technologies: Hands-on knowledge of SQL, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines in production environments

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry and its data integration and transformation capabilities

Role
For Slovakia the
base salary range
for this position is between EUR 2,400 and EUR 4,100 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
