Your new role

As a Senior Database Administrator (all genders), you will help ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the database platform behind our cloud communication solutions. You will work on highly available, business-critical real-time systems and contribute to the continuous evolution of our infrastructure landscape. Together with infrastructure, platform, and development teams, you will shape modern database architectures and drive automation across our environments. Your work will have direct impact on the reliability and performance experienced by hundreds of thousands of users.

The work you‘ll do

  • Design, build, and operate highly available database clusters based on MariaDB.
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability strategies.
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries, database performance, and system scalability.
  • Automate database and infrastructure operations using tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • Support development teams with database architecture, data modeling, and integration topics.
  • Operate databases in virtualized and containerized environments, including Kubernetes.
  • Implement and improve database security, compliance, and encryption standards.
  • Contribute to incident management and participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure platform stability.

The Qualifications You Need

  • Several years of experience administering MariaDB inhighly available production environments.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with at least one additional relational database system, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Good scripting and automation skills using languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation of operational processes.
  • Solid understanding of IT security, compliance, and high-availability concepts.
  • Structured and analytical mindset with a high degree of ownership and collaboration.
  • Ideally experience with Kubernetes, Linux (Debian), NoSQL technologies, or distributed systems.

Background
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Public Participation Section (S3 level), the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

  • Coordinating ExB project implementation, and ensuring that the project activities are successfully implementing in accordance with the project objective throughout the project cycle, including: meeting relevant interlocutors; designing and implementing action plans and timelines; monitoring budget implementation to ensure compliance with donor requirements and OSCE’s policies and procedures; supporting the documentation of the project for monitoring and reporting purposes; advise the Project Manager on Project related risks, and relevant mitigating measures to be adopted;
  • Collaborating closely with OMiS colleagues to ensure alignment across the project; Establishing and maintaining regular contacts with direct beneficiaries and all other relevant interlocutors involved in the field of advancing young women role in inter-community dialogue and trust-building;
  • Drafting activity reports, technical/outcome reports, progressing reports as well as the annual final self-evaluation reports. Drafting all additional reports donors might request throughout the project cycle. Coordinating the collation of information and the developing of knowledge products, resources and publications related to the project;
  • Coordinating and supporting the planning and organization of activities and events, including: preparing and compiling relevant background material and documentation, such as concept notes, agendas/programmes, briefs, etc.; identifying participants; planning and securing the needed logistical arrangements such as accommodation, transportation, translation services etc.; timely reporting and adequate archiving of all relevant activity documents;
  • Leading the organization of bi-annual meeting of the ExB Project Steering Board, including: timely disseminating invitation, ensuring all needed logistical and administrative arrangements; Ensuring the meetings are adequately recorded;
  • Ensuring dissemination of project outputs; supporting communication-related activities, including communications/outreach strategy, and social media to disseminate information and managing the visibility of the project in line with OSCE Mission in Kosovo and donor requirements

Necessary Qualifications

  • First level university degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social and Political Sciences, Law, Inter-disciplinary studies or other relevant discipline;
  • A minimum two years of professional-level experience with international, inter-governmental or civil society organizations, preferably working in the field of gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s public participation;
  • Excellent project management knowledge;
  • Experience working with relevant women's / gender organizations or thematic issues is considered an advantage;
  • Experience working on projects funded by multiple donors;
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft applications;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one local language.

Remuneration Package
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1,872.58 Euro/month.

The Opportunity
This role will handle escalations for shop partners who leverage the online Slice platform to power their digital presence. You'll play a crucial role in the retention and success of these partner shops, and by extension Slice. The ideal candidate will bring a customer first attitude, a strong ability to manage client relationships, and a proven track record of solving problems.

The Team
The Account Management team is at the heart of our organization, championing Slice’s relationships with our partner shops and providing an exceptional experience to our customers. The team consists of over 20 individuals across Macedonia, and North America. This role reports to a Team Lead in Account Management.

Core Competencies For The Role

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer facing roles, sales or account management (experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly preferred).
  • Ability to manage high risk accounts, with a focus on Saves and growth.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of low volume, high potential accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Slack, Excel, and other account management tools
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team first individual, that enjoys working in a team environment and brings a positive mindset.
  • Fluency in english language, multiple languages is a strong plus
