Описание вакансии

Building the Future of Open Finance
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.

Before you apply, we encourage you to explore our culture page to understand what drives us and how we work.

The Team
You will join a senior team of DBAs, SREs, and platform engineers responsible for the database and vector data platforms behind Kraken's most critical services. The group combines deep operational expertise with a platform mindset: we design systems that let engineering teams move quickly while preserving strong guarantees around performance, correctness, security, and reliability.

The team is entering an important phase of evolution as Kraken continues to expand globally and as AI-enabled product and internal platform use cases grow. Over the next year, we are focused on strengthening PostgreSQL operational excellence, building reliable vector data capabilities, preparing for significant future scale, and increasing automation and self-service so database operations become safer and more efficient at scale.

This is not a traditional keep-the-lights-on DBA team. Our work centers on scaling high-throughput PostgreSQL environments, operating vector search and embedding stores with production discipline, shaping reliable patterns for high-traffic systems, and transforming operational knowledge into automated, auditable workflows that uplift the engineering organization.

The Opportunity

  • Scale and tune high-throughput PostgreSQL clusters that support continued global expansion and new product initiatives.
  • Own PostgreSQL reliability fundamentals: WAL behavior, checkpoints, autovacuum, query planning, locking, replication lag, backup/restore, and capacity planning.
  • Help build and operate vector data capabilities, including pgvector and dedicated VectorDB platforms where appropriate.
  • Define production patterns for embeddings, approximate nearest neighbor indexes, metadata filtering, recall/latency tradeoffs, reindexing, data freshness, and drift management.
  • Strengthen high-availability, disaster-recovery, PITR, and backup approaches through sound design and regularly validated procedures.
  • Reduce manual operational work by building automation, improving process consistency, and enabling safe, low-friction database workflows.
  • Improve observability and alert quality by championing meaningful metrics, reducing noise, and ensuring operational clarity across PostgreSQL and vector workloads.
  • Enhance database security through robust access controls, disciplined patching and upgrade practices, encryption, auditability, and secure operational patterns.
  • Contribute to modern platform initiatives, including containerized environments, infrastructure-as-code workflows, GitOps, reproducible deployments, and self-service database operations.
  • Partner with service, AI, and platform teams to drive better performance patterns, operational readiness, data hygiene, and safe use of vector search across the engineering organization.
  • Participate in on-call rotations with a long-term focus on making on-call predictable, well-instrumented, and shaped by preventative engineering.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years operating PostgreSQL in high-volume production environments, including performance tuning, replication, backup/restore, upgrades, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals and operations: MVCC, transaction isolation, locks, WAL, checkpoints, autovacuum, bloat, statistics, query planner behavior, partitioning, and index strategy.
  • Hands-on experience with high availability and read scaling: streaming replication, replication slots, failover, lag management, PITR, backups, and disaster-recovery drills.
  • Experience with connection pooling and traffic management for PostgreSQL, especially PgBouncer, HAProxy, Kubernetes service routing, or comparable patterns.
  • Practical VectorDB or vector search experience, such as pgvector, Qdrant, Milvus, Weaviate, OpenSearch vector search, or similar systems.
  • Ability to reason about vector index types and operational tradeoffs, including HNSW/IVFFlat-style indexes, recall, latency, memory, ingestion throughput, metadata filters, rebuilds, and versioned embeddings.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows. Terraform experience is ideal.
  • Solid cloud, Linux, storage, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration platforms, including building container images and managing Kubernetes workloads at scale.
  • Strong security instincts around access control, credential lifecycle, encryption, auditability, upgrade processes, and safe operational workflows.
  • Observability expertise: monitoring, alerting hygiene, SLOs, dashboards, query-level visibility, and readiness for incident response.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner with stakeholders, negotiate long-term plans, write formal documentation, and tie success to specific metrics and KPIs.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with SRE methodologies such as error budgets, operational reviews, reliability programs, and failure exercises.
  • Strong scripting or programming ability, preferably Python, Go, or Rust, used to build automation and internal tools.
  • Hands-on experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Exposure to multi-region, multi-datacenter, or active/passive disaster-recovery designs.
  • Experience supporting AI, retrieval, personalization, fraud, search, or recommendation systems that depend on embeddings or hybrid search.
  • Interest in cryptocurrency or decentralized systems.

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
Our commitment
Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto.

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Embedded Platform & Bring-Up Engineer

NXP Semiconductors

Удалённоfulltime

Описание вакансии

Ready to join the future of innovation?
NXP Semiconductors enable secure connections and infrastructure for a smarter world, advancing solutions that make lives easier, better and safer. As the world leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications, we are driving innovation in secure connected vehicles, end-to-end security & privacy and smart connected solutions markets.

Join one of the largest industrial security teams and build technology that protects real devices, worldwide.
At NXP’s Competence Center Crypto & Security, we design, build, and deliver end-to-end security — from innovation to architecture to products in the field.

If you’re a security engineer who wants impact, on real life security solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

Owing to the success of our business our department is growing. We are looking for an outstanding Embedded Software Engineer to join the Platform Support group of the Secure Software IP team

This is a Platform Support role. The team does not develop the software library itself — it focuses on platform bring-up and on ensuring the software library builds, runs and can be interacted with across our MCU/MPU product portfolio. You will integrate, port and maintain the bare-metal test operating system (test OS) that serves as the vehicle for exercising the software library on each platform, on both pre-silicon (FPGA/emulation) and post-silicon (real board hardware) targets. This is a hands-on hardware/software integration and platform-enablement role — not library development, application development or manual test execution.

Your Team
The Secure Software IP team is responsible for developing and testing state of the art secure cryptographic libraries protected against physical and logical attacks across all different NXP domains and business lines (payment, identification, mobile, IoT, Automotive, Edge Processing…).

Your Responsibilities

  • Port and integrate the bare-metal test OS across different MCU/MPU-based products so that the software library can be built, executed and interacted with on each new platform — bringing targets up from first power-on to a working, validated state.
  • Drive pre- and post-silicon bring-up — enable and debug the test firmware on FPGA/emulation platforms before silicon, and on real board hardware after tape-out — with awareness of the full semiconductor product lifecycle.
  • Upgrade and maintain the existing test firmware with new features, including the associated build-system evolution (make, cmake, …) and Python-based automation and tooling.
  • Own the build environment (make, cmake) and supporting scripts used across platforms, keeping it scalable and maintainable as new products and features are added.
  • Set up performance measurement and code-coverage collection on target — using on-chip timers and trace infrastructure to generate and collect coverage and trace reports for the software under test.
  • Align with Software and Test architects to determine which testing features and which software-library features should be enabled or disabled for each newly brought-up platform, and to propose and evaluate technical concepts for cross-platform development.
  • Support developers and testers on live hardware — debug already-running targets, analyze crashes and platform-related issues, and root-cause failures at the firmware, processor and SoC level.
  • Drive Hardware/Software system integration together with the architects, ensuring the functionality of the development and test environments across platforms.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members and act as a technical reference within the platform support team.

Your Profile
Must have

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Microelectronics Engineering or similar.
  • 4+ years of relevant embedded / platform-support experience.
  • Proven proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly.
  • Hands-on experience in bare-metal / low-level embedded development on microcontroller and microprocessor architectures.
  • Awareness of the semiconductor product lifecycle (pre-silicon → tape-out → post-silicon bring-up → production), including bringing up firmware on FPGA/emulation and on real board hardware.
  • Ability to read and work from reference manuals, datasheets and board schematics; solid understanding of register maps and memory maps.
  • SoC and system-level design knowledge (subsystems, interconnect, boot flow, interrupts, memory) sufficient to debug platform-level issues.
  • Ability to debug processor cores (ARM Cortex-M and/or RISC-V) and analyze crashes on running hardware.
  • Working knowledge of on-chip peripherals used for performance measurement — e.g. timer IPs, GPIO and the Cortex-M SysTick timer.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more low-level debugging tools (e.g., GDB, IAR Embedded Workbench, Keil MDK, OpenOCD) and hardware debug probes (JTAG/SWD).
  • Comfortable using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and/or logic analyzers for hardware-level debugging.
  • Good knowledge of ARM CPU architecture, preferably ARM Cortex-M; RISC-V is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of standard bus/communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, …).
  • Knowledge of build systems (makefile, cmake) and scripting languages (Python, batch, …).
  • Familiarity with multiple toolchains (ARMCC/armclang, IAR, GCC, …).
  • Experience with version control workflows (Git/Gerrit).
  • Good English communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ARM trace architecture (CoreSight, ETM, TPIU) and trace-based tooling (e.g. TRACE32) for code-coverage and trace report generation and collection.
  • Basic knowledge of cryptography / cryptographic libraries — helpful for understanding which software-library features to enable per platform, but not a hard requirement.
  • Experience with hardware emulation platforms (e.g. Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) for SoC/IP-level bring-up.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

DATAPAO

Удалённоfulltime

Откликнуться на сайте работодателя

Описание вакансии

At DATAPAO, data ignites passion, community fuels collaboration, and growth knows no bounds.
We are a leading Data Engineering and AI consulting company backed by Databricks and recognized for our unmatched delivery standards and rapid growth. We have been named Databricks EMEA Emerging Business Partner of the Year (2024), achieved the Golden Tier status in the Databricks Partner Program, and made three consecutive appearances on the Financial Times FT1000 list.

We are looking to hire a
Chief Financial Officer
to drive our very ambitious growth plans. This role will report directly to the CEO and will be part of the Leadership Team.

The position is based in the Budapest HQ or remote (given your commitment to travel regularly to Budapest). You will oversee a team of 2 from the get-go, with an additional headcount to be added within the first 6-12 months.

The Role

As our first CFO, you will be the CEO's closest strategic partner and the architect of DATAPAO's financial future.

You are expected to shape capital allocation, commercial strategy, forecasting, and company-wide performance. You will lead the Finance function, connect every other business unit through planning and forecasting, and keep the company resilient, fundable, and scalable.

We are looking for a true CFO, not a controller role with a big title. Meaning you'll own both halves of the job: the strategic agenda (e.g., pricing, unit economics, scenarios, investor and board narrative) and the operational engine beneath it. Your Senior Controller and Finance Admin run most of the day-to-day, which frees you to spend your time where it counts, informing the business what to do next.

What You'll Own

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Shape GTM strategy with the CEO and Head of Sales, including pricing and margin models.
  • Build and own the unit economics for consulting and AI-driven services.
  • Translate financial insight into concrete strategic recommendations.
  • Integrate Finance with Delivery, Education, Sales, People, and Marketing through shared planning and forecasting.

What good looks like: the Leadership Team makes decisions based on your numbers and forecasts because they trust them, and you are in the room shaping the conversation, not reporting on it afterward.

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Build forward-looking forecasts and scenarios, each with a recommended action.
  • Maintain 18 to 24 months of runway visibility at all times.
  • Own the planning process end to end, not just the spreadsheets, but the process as a whole.
  • Map scenarios we might face, signal risk early, and work on mitigation with the leadership team.

What good looks like: monthly scenario updates with clear recommended actions land on the Leadership Team's table before anyone has to ask. Hence, the Leadership Team is aware of and acts in advance on utilization, gross margin, and cash flow risks.

Performance Insights & Analytics

  • Use data to explain why something happened (not only what happened) and to inform future decisions.
  • Build and run dashboards across utilisation, margin, pipeline health, and financial performance.
  • Operate a dependable weekly and monthly reporting cadence.
  • Be prescriptive: tell us what to do next.
  • Work with each business unit to show them how they are performing against the budget and how to operate more efficiently.

What good looks like: leaders open a dashboard and know where they stand without having to ask Finance, and every insight comes with a "do this next" recommendation.

Finance Function Design

  • Build a modern, automated finance organisation. This means that you leverage technology (yes, AI too) to improve operational efficiency
  • Improve the accuracy of our finance data and reporting to the level that the rest of the company relies on it as the single source of truth.
  • Lead and grow the finance team: a Senior Controller and Finance Admin today, with room to add a third hire within 6-12 months.

What good looks like: month-end closes quickly and accurately on systems, and over time, the volume of work the Finance Team can sustain with the same headcount is increasing.

FinOps, Risk & Compliance Oversight

  • Own the outcome of FinOps: accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and compliance, run through your team rather than by your own hand.
  • Keep us paying and paid on time, and compliant with UK and Hungarian tax regulations. (We operate in the UK and HU with legal entities, and in Spain via EOR operators)
  • Manage treasury: cash and currency exposure across markets.
  • Oversee legal, tax, and cash-flow risk from a commercial perspective.
  • Keep the company operating safely within its risk appetite, not through bureaucracy but through clarity and systems.

What good looks like: nothing slips. Payments and filings are never late, both jurisdictions stay clean, and risk is visible to the Leadership Team before it bites. We don't have excess cash sitting idle, and we hedge against currency risk as much as possible.

Investor Relations & Board Reporting

  • Own the board-level reporting.
  • Lead a fundraising or an acquisition process (if applicable).

What good looks like: board papers tell a clear story with no decoding required, investors trust the numbers, and we can move fast when a raise or an opportunity appears.

How success will me easured in this role?

Your success will be a function of the metrics you'll drive and the metrics that you'll co-own with the rest of the Leadership Team.

You'll Drive

  • Forecast accuracy (e.g., within ±5% on the rolling quarter)
  • Cash-flow runway, with 18 to 24 months of visibility
  • Working capital cycle
  • Reporting cadence and quality (weekly and monthly)

You'll Co-own With The Leadership Team

  • Gross margin
  • EBITDA vs. Plan
  • Utilisation rate
  • Project margin health
  • Revenue predictability

The exact targets are to be agreed with the CEO upon joining.

What does it take to fit the bill?

We know that unicorns don’t exist. But at a minimum, we think you should check most of the boxes below to carry the weight of this role.

Must Have

  • CFO or equivalent senior finance leadership experience in a high-growth technology or professional-services business.
  • A solid track record of driving planning, forecasting, and growth in partnership with Sales, Delivery, and other business units.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen: you think about margin, pricing, and growth, not only control.
  • Strong compliance knowledge.
  • An excellent communicator who can carry a number from a spreadsheet to the boardroom.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in professional services or consulting.
  • Managed fundraising or acquisition processes.
  • Built or modernised a finance function and its systems.
  • Comfortable sitting in a sales call and working hand in hand with the commercial team.

While we'd like to see you mastering all the above, don’t worry if you don't tick every box. If you tick enough and are keen to drive the growth of one of the best consulting companies in EMEA, we'd love to hear back from you.

What will the selection process look like?

  • Screening Interview (~60 minutes): Run by one of our recruiters or our Head of People. The main purpose is to confirm required experience, business acumen, and partnership skills.
  • Cultural Interview (~60 minutes): Our Head of People will run it. While we are fully committed to building a high-talent density, “genius jerks” have no place here, so we take fitting the community very seriously. This will be skipped if the screening round is run by our Head of People.
  • External CFO Interview (~75 minutes): We're partnering with a fractional CFO to help us probe the core skills required for this role and your experience across the multiple dimensions you'll oversee.
  • CEO Interview (~75 minutes): The main focus will be on how you build trust and partner with various functions, particularly Sales. We'll also touch on your experience with planning and M&A processes, among others.
  • Team Coffee Chat: Informal, get-to-know-each-other, and vibe-check meeting in person with the Leadership Team and your future team.

What do we offer?

At DATAPAO, we're on a mission to build one of the world's best consulting companies in the field of Data Engineering and AI. And there is hardly any more impactful role in shaping our journey and success than the CFO.

Here is a list of some other extras we offer:

  • A stock incentive plan. And the chance to drive its value up from the front seat. Additionally, you'll join the field of data and AI, and we trust there is no better time than today to do so.
  • Flexible working hours and PTO days. We’re flexible about how many days you take off, as long as it doesn't conflict with the work getting done. Additionally, it is up to you how many days you spend in the office. However, as a senior leader, we'd expect to spend face-to-face time with your team and mentor others. And we believe this can be achieved only through a balanced mix of in-person and remote work.
  • 4 Weeks of Paternity Leave (if applicable). Because we think it’s important for both parents to be there when it matters the most.
  • Healthcare benefits. We provide a generous private medical package via Generali, and 15 days per year of fully paid sick leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychology, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person.
  • Top-notch working equipment. You will get a MacBook Pro, a Herman Miller chair, standing desks in the office, and whatever else is needed to give your best.
  • The chance to shape our culture. As a Leadership Team member, you get the rare opportunity to influence not only our growth but also how our organizational culture evolves over time.
  • A cozy office in the heart of Budapest (close to Oktogon), well-stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee, and beverages. An annual team building and a wide range of other community events
