What you can expect to do in this role:

  • Own and evolve the Blueprints UI in TypeScript and React within a micro-frontend architecture, holding it to a high, quality-first standard.
  • Act as a technical authority for frontend work - pressure-testing proposed UX against real technical constraints and helping define how other teams contribute Blueprint UI components.
  • Work fluidly across the ART, embedding temporarily with feature teams that need frontend help, then bringing that experience and consistency back to the Pirates team.
  • Uphold the team's engineering discipline: small, well-tested changes, continuous delivery, and personal ownership of what ships.
  • Participate in the team's ways of working - testing-first development, correction-of-error retros, and a contractual on-call model where you act as the deeper-knowledge escalation layer behind Cloud Ops.

  • The confidence to constructively challenge decisions, including your manager's, with factual, well-reasoned arguments regardless of seniority.
  • Strong attitude, motivation, and learning orientation.
  • The ability to reason about the technical environment the frontend lives in - AWS, Kubernetes, the Tyk API gateway, defining APIs, and SaaS/continuous-delivery workflows - and what those imply for the UI.
  • You're comfortable owning what you ship - taking part in the on-call rotation, digging into incidents when they happen, and keeping deployment and reporting paths running smoothly."
  • Experience with micro-frontend / Module Federation architecture (preferred).
  • Observability and operational thinking (preferred).
  • Exposure to Apple MDM / Declarative Device Management (preferred - very learnable on the team, not a requirement).
