Senior AI Application Engineer

An innovative leader in the premium automotive and mobility sector is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team in München. This role focuses on building and prototyping advanced machine learning use cases that leverage edge device models to enhance intelligent in-car experiences. The successful candidate will translate complex model capabilities into meaningful product features that define the future of vehicle interaction.

What you'll be doing

• Integrate machine learning models that run on edge devices within the infotainment domain

• Prototype and build generative AI experiences to launch as refined customer features

• Collaborate with engineering teams to manage latency, memory, and performance budgets

• Develop evaluation tools to measure real-world interaction quality and failure modes

• Partner with UX teams to refine design flows, fallbacks, and safe error handling

What we're looking for

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Five or more years of experience in application engineering for large-scale customer bases

• Strong background integrating generative AI and machine learning models into applications

• Proficiency in Python and Java or Kotlin

• Experience debugging complex AI failures and working with constrained edge-device models
