Описание вакансии

About Areg.AI

Areg.ai is a tech company working at the intersection of renewable energy, AI, and smart infrastructure. We are building a next-generation software platform to monitor, automate, and optimize the performance of solar power plants around the world, using advanced analytics, IoT, and intelligent control systems.

We are a fast-growing, venture-backed company with an ambitious roadmap and a strong engineering culture. If you are early in your career and want to learn quickly while doing work that matters, this is a place to grow.

Position Summary

We are looking for a curious, motivated
Automation & IoT Integration Engineer
to join our core engineering team. You will help design, program, integrate, and deploy automation and IoT solutions for solar plant optimization and remote management.

This role is open to junior and mid-level engineers, including recent graduates. You do not need to know everything on day one. If you have a solid foundation, a genuine interest in automation and energy, and the drive to learn, we will support you with guidance and hands-on projects. You will work closely with experienced engineers and grow into greater responsibility over time.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will grow with your experience. Early on, you will work alongside senior engineers; over time, you will take ownership of larger pieces of the system.

  • Help develop and implement PLC control programs for renewable energy facilities, including solar PV plants, energy storage systems, and hybrid systems.
  • Configure automation controllers for plant monitoring, grid compliance, and energy optimization.
  • Support the development of control logic for smart building systems such as lighting, HVAC, and security.
  • Help interface PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, inverters, transformers, trackers, weather stations, and third-party equipment.
  • Contribute to tuning configurations and solutions for efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Take part in factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and on-site commissioning.
  • Help troubleshoot and debug PLC/HMI logic for alarms and faults, both remotely and on-site.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, IT) across the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including control logic, communication mappings, network diagrams, and user guides.
  • Follow industry standards, grid codes, safety regulations, and cybersecurity best practices (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, secure remote access).
  • Keep learning about PLC programming, SCADA development, industrial protocols, and smart energy technologies.

What We're Looking For

We care far more about how you think than about the length of your CV. We do not expect deep expertise in all of the areas below; familiarity and a willingness to learn go a long way. The one thing we are not flexible on is the ability to troubleshoot.

  • Most importantly:
strong troubleshooting instincts. You can take an unfamiliar or poorly defined problem, search for answers, reason through it logically, spot what you still need to learn, and go learn it. This matters to us more than any single tool or technology.
  • A degree (or equivalent hands-on experience) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Some hands-on experience with PLC programming and automation, from coursework, internships, personal projects, or up to a few years on the job. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and configuration tools, and an interest in learning new platforms as needed.
  • Familiarity with one or more standard programming methods used in automation, such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), or Sequential Function Charts (SFC).
  • Familiarity with microcontroller programming languages such as C is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of the devices found in solar and building systems, such as inverters, weather stations, MV/LV switchgear, solar trackers, and smart meters. Direct experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with electrical interface standards such as RS232 and RS485, and with common industrial and SCADA communication protocols such as Modbus. Awareness of others (e.g. IEC 61850, OPC UA, BACnet, Profibus, KNX, EtherNet/IP, MQTT) is a bonus.
  • The ability to read basic electrical schematics, network diagrams, and control system layouts, or the willingness to learn.
  • Communication skills in Armenian and English (written and verbal); Russian or other languages are an advantage.
  • Comfort with everyday office software; any exposure to AutoCAD or SCADA/HMI tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for commissioning, testing, and support.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.

Why Join Areg.AI?

Learn fast:
Work alongside experienced engineers and get real mentorship, not just tickets to close.

Grow your career:
Take on more responsibility as you develop, in a team with a startup spirit and a global vision.

Work across disciplines:
Collaborate with AI developers, energy analysts, hardware engineers, and data scientists.

Make a real impact:
Your work will be deployed across utility-scale solar power plants and contribute directly to the energy transition.

Solid package:
Competitive compensation and future stock options as part of a growing venture-backed company.
