Technical Product Manager – Mobile

At Öneriver, we build technology products for financial institutions and help our clients create better digital experiences.

We are looking for a
Technical Product Manager with 3–5 years of experience
to join our mobile product team.

This is not a traditional Product Manager role. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who can understand both the
product and technical sides of a problem
, work closely with engineering teams and engage directly with clients when needed.

The role will also include some aspects of the
Forward Deployed Engineer
approach: understanding real client problems, going deeper into technical details and helping teams turn those problems into practical solutions.

What You Will Do

Own the technical product management of our mobile products.
Understand business and client needs and turn them into clear technical requirements.
Work closely with mobile, backend, frontend, DevOps, QA and other engineering teams.
Contribute to the design of APIs, integrations, authentication flows and system-to-system data flows.
Understand how mobile applications interact with backend services and third-party systems.
Investigate technical issues by reviewing API requests/responses, logs, error messages and system behavior.
Work directly with clients and their technical teams when needed.
Understand client-specific problems and identify solutions that can become part of the core product.
Create clear user stories, acceptance criteria, API flows, sequence diagrams and other technical documentation.
Manage priorities between product roadmap, client needs, technical improvements and technical debt.
Follow features from analysis and development through testing and production.
Follow new technologies and use AI-assisted development and product tools where they can improve the way we work.

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
3–5 years of experience
in software development, technical product management, solution engineering or a similar role.
Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, authentication, authorization and system integrations.
Basic knowledge of mobile application architecture and mobile-backend communication.
Ability to work with SQL and relational databases for basic analysis and troubleshooting.
Experience with tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
Ability to read logs and investigate technical problems.
Ability to create and understand sequence diagrams and system flows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Good command of English.

Nice to Have

Previous hands-on software development experience.
Experience with iOS or Android development.
Knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar programming language.
Understanding of microservice architectures.
Familiarity with OAuth2, OpenID Connect and JWT.
Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, SSE or WebSocket.
Basic knowledge of CI/CD, containers and cloud-native development.
Experience in fintech, banking, investment or capital markets.
Experience with B2B or enterprise products and client integrations.
Experience investigating production issues.
Experience using AI coding tools and LLM-based development tools.

Who Will Be Successful in This Role?

We are looking for someone who does more than forward a technical problem to the engineering team.

When a client says,
"This feature is not working in the mobile app,"
we expect you to start asking questions such as:

Which API is being called? What does the request look like? What is the response? Is the issue related to authentication, backend services, integration or the mobile application?

You don't need to be the person who writes every line of code. But you should be comfortable going into technical details, asking the right questions and working with engineers to find the right solution.

In short, we are looking for someone who combines the
product mindset of a Product Manager with the technical curiosity of an Engineer.

Your Mission
Who we are
Immoweb is Belgium's leading real estate portal, part of AVIV Group, Europe's largest network of digital real estate marketplaces. Every month, hundreds of thousands of people use our iOS app to search, save, and get alerted about the properties that matter to them. We're currently modernising our native codebase — moving from an older UIKit/MVVM stack to a leaner, more testable Swift 6 architecture — while keeping the app running reliably for our existing user base.

The Seeker squad
You'll join Seeker, a full-stack squad (iOS, Android, Web, Backend, Design) that owns the end-to-end property search and discovery experience: search, filters, saved searches and alerts, and the property detail page. We work in close collaboration with product and design, ship through CI/CD, and care about shipping quality features that scale to hundreds of thousands of daily users.

What You'll Do

Design and build native iOS features for the Immoweb app, working closely with our Android, Web, Backend, and Design counterparts on shared feature sets.
Contribute to our ongoing migration from UIKit/legacy patterns to SwiftUI, @Observable, and Point-Free's modular architecture libraries.
Write clean, testable code (XCTest / Swift Testing) and review your teammates' work.
Continuously improve app quality, performance, and stability for a large, active user base.
Ship through our CI/CD pipeline in close collaboration with product managers.
Be a driving force behind new features — search relevance, alerts, personalisation — and technical improvements alike.
Share knowledge with the team and help raise the bar on iOS engineering practices across Immoweb.

What You Bring

Solid, hands-on experience building production iOS apps in Swift, ideally including Swift 6 and iOS 18.
Strong SwiftUI experience; comfort with @Observable and modern state management patterns.
Good understanding of Swift Concurrency (async/await); exposure to RxSwift is a plus, as parts of our codebase are mid-migration.
Familiarity with, or willingness to adopt, Point-Free's à la carte libraries (swift-dependencies, swift-sharing, swift-navigation, swift-case-paths).
Experience consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with Moya is a plus.
A solid grasp of software architecture and Clean Architecture principles.
Basic knowledge of unit and UI testing (XCTest / Swift Testing).
Comfort working with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub).
Excellent communication skills; you're a team player who shares knowledge openly.
English is mandatory; French or Dutch are strong assets given our Belgian market.

Nice to have

Experience with Swift Package Manager.
Familiarity with the Composable Architecture (TCA) or similar unidirectional architectures.
Experience with A/B testing and product analytics/tracking.
Experience with Bitrise or similar CI/CD tooling.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
Experience contributing to or consuming a design system.
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence; experience working in Scrum.
