The AI Center of Excellence Engineer will support Lenovo’s Europe and META HPC/AI Innovation Centre located within the Ullo manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a high-performance lab environment used for customer proof-of-concepts, demonstrations, and technology validation activities. The position requires strong hands-on technical expertise combined with a professional, customer-facing approach. The successful candidate will collaborate with global teams, solution architects, data scientists, and external partners, contributing to successful customer outcomes and maintaining a world-class AI validation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain AI and HPC infrastructure within the Innovation Centre, ensuring continuous availability and performance
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components, including GPUs, CPUs, storage, and networking equipment
- Rack, cable, deploy, and document lab systems in alignment with operational standards
- Manage hardware inventory, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely replacement of faulty components
- Support customer and partner proof-of-concept activities from setup through completion
- Configure tailored testing environments based on specific customer requirements
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems, including networking, storage, and virtualization platforms
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials for internal teams
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or data center operations
- Proven hands-on expertise with server hardware, rack integration, cabling, networking, and infrastructure troubleshooting
- Experience supporting lab environments, testing setups, or infrastructure validation activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with customers and partners
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with international and cross-functional teams
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach
