As a Staff Software Engineer on Conga’s AI Platform team, you’ll be a key technical leader shaping the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable, and innovative AI and GenAI solutions. You’ll lead high‑impact projects, set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance and quality.

You bring deep expertise (minimum 10 years of experience) in Python, FastAPI, PyTest, Celery, and modern design patterns. You’ve built large‑scale, production‑grade systems and understand distributed systems, microservices, and cloud‑native architecture.

You define and influence technical direction across teams. You lead design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long‑term product strategy.

You’re an expert in AI/ML and GenAI.
You have significant experience building AI/ML or GenAI applications. You understand model training, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management. You’re familiar with frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph and have hands‑on experience with modern ML techniques, generative models, or LLMs.

You elevate teams through mentorship.
You coach senior and junior engineers, raise the bar for code quality, and foster a culture of technical excellence. You provide thoughtful feedback, share knowledge, and help others grow.

You take full ownership in a DevOps model.
You lead projects end‑to‑end — from ideation and design to deployment and monitoring. You ensure services are reliable, observable, and resilient. You respond to incidents, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

You collaborate and influence across the organization.
You partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineering leadership to deliver cohesive solutions. You articulate technical decisions clearly and help stakeholders understand their business impact.

• Conducting problem management activities to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues.
• Applying ITIL4 practices and adhering strictly to established service management guidelines.
• Maintaining organization and composure under pressure while troubleshooting complex issues.
• Proactively contributing innovative ideas and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work on a shift in 24/7 coverage rotation (2-day shifts, 2-night shifts, 4 days off)

EXperience And Skills Required

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud environments
• ITIL4 certification and relevant hyperscale, Kubernetes, or Linux certifications.
• Proven practical experience in Cloud operations, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to remain calm and structured during critical situations.
• Ability to follow instructions and operational guidelines with high attention to detail.
• Experience working in structured environments with staffing processes, onboarding, and quality assurance controls.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Overview Of The Role
We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with experience in Node.js or PHP (Laravel) to join our team. You will work on building and maintaining scalable backend applications and services, contributing to a robust and high-performance infrastructure that powers a seamless user experience across our platforms.

You will develop backend services in Node.js and support/improve existing PHP/Laravel (Nova) systems as needed . You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, participate in technical discussions, and help evolve our backend architecture and standard processes. You will own the performance and stability of mobile backend services: ensure all APIs operate efficiently, proactively identify and resolve issues, drive rapid incident resolution, and be accountable for service reliability, uptime, and seamless integration with mobile applications.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys clean, maintainable code, API design, and continuous improvement. Experience with distributed systems, microservices, state management, and performance optimization is highly valued. Familiarity with cloud technologies, message brokers (e.g., Kafka), and caching systems (e.g., Redis) is a strong advantage.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. • Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and PHP/Laravel (Nova)
• Collaborate with mainly mobile developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and secure backend solutions

• Proven professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on in backend development
• 2+ years of backend experience in either Node.js (typescript) or PHP (Laravel; Laravel is a plus)

• Strong grasp of backend architecture, scalability, microservices, and API security best practices
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub/GitLab); familiarity with Agile processes
