Position Summary
Leverage operating system expertise, analytics, and automation to identify root causes of IT issues, improve service stability, and drive operational efficiency across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operating system logs, events, and performance data across Windows, macOS, and Linux to identify recurring issues and root causes.
- Design and implement automation and remediation workflows to reduce manual effort and improve service reliability.
- Leverage data analytics, observability, and predictive insights to support continuous service improvement.
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Curation Automation, and Engineering teams to operationalize automated solutions.
- Improve service stability, performance, and end-user experience through proactive problem identification and resolution.
- Develop scripts and automation using PowerShell, Python, or low-code/no-code platforms.
- Document technical findings, remediation processes, and automation workflows to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
Key Competencies
- Strong technical expertise across Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with system troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of enterprise IT operations, infrastructure, and system interdependencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical insights into business improvements.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Reduction in recurring incidents through automation and root cause resolution.
- Number and effectiveness of automated remediation workflows implemented.
- Improvement in service stability and system performance.
- Reduction in manual operational effort and Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).
- Quality and timeliness of root cause analysis and documentation.
- Customer and end-user satisfaction with service reliability.
Experience
Candidate Requirements
- Strong technical experience supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems in enterprise environments.
- Experience with automation, scripting, and operational process improvement.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, or IT operations analytics is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant operating system, infrastructure, or automation certifications are preferred.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified (Windows Administration/Azure)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification
- CompTIA Linux+, Network+, or Server+
- ITIL Foundation
- Python, PowerShell, or automation platform certifications
