Backend Team Lead
to join our Payment Systems team, leading the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance services on the .NET stack.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical ownership with people development. You’ll shape the architecture of our payment platform, lead complex integrations with payment providers, banks, and mobile money operators, and support a team of engineers in delivering resilient systems that perform reliably at scale.

YOUR IMPACT
Technical:

  • Design and deliver scalable, robust, and high-performance backend solutions using .NET, PostgreSQL, and Entity Framework Core.
  • Optimize PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and data models to maintain data integrity and performance as transaction volumes scale.
  • Drive architectural decisions across our microservices and gRPC-based payment gateway, selecting the right patterns and technologies for each challenge.
  • Own the technical quality of integrations with payment providers, banks, and mobile money operators, from initial onboarding through production.
  • Build resilient integrations that handle real-world payment scenarios, including timeouts, retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and provider-specific behavior.
  • Maintain high engineering standards across delivered solutions, with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Drive continuous technical improvement, evaluating and introducing new technologies where they deliver meaningful value.

Leadership:

  • Lead a team of .NET developers responsible for payment processing, orchestration, and third-party provider integrations.
  • Mentor engineers on software design, code quality, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead effective code reviews, providing clear, constructive feedback that raises engineering standards across the team.
  • Create an environment of ownership, open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Product, QA, and other stakeholders to define priorities, manage expectations, and deliver against agreed timelines.

Our Requirements
Technical:

  • Excellent knowledge of the .NET technology stack, including C#/.NET and REST and gRPC APIs.
  • Strong relational database expertise, ideally PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core and modern data-access patterns.
  • Proven experience making architectural and implementation-level design decisions within distributed or microservices-based systems.
  • Solid experience integrating external APIs and providers, including authentication, adapters, retries, idempotency, and failure handling.
  • Strong understanding of clean code, software design patterns, SOLID principles, and maintainable software architecture.
  • Experience with real-time or near-real-time event-driven systems using Kafka or comparable messaging technologies.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues within high-throughput, transactional systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills when working with complex production systems.
  • Comfortable working within an Agile/Scrum engineering environment.

Leadership:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop software engineers while maintaining strong technical credibility.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform and cloud-native architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar role, with proven hands-on experience in:
  • Designing and implementing infrastructure solution architectures to meet customer requirements.

  • Implementing, administering, and maintaining multi-vendor backup and recovery solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
  • Good understanding of high-availability, clustering and failover concepts.
  • Cisco, HPE, and/or Microsoft Certifications will be considered as an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Bash and/or PowerShell Scripting will be considered as an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database administration will be considered as an advantage.

Role Overview

Operating on a hybrid basis across Cyprus, Malta, Armenia, or Serbia, this role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining workflow automations, event-driven integrations, and data platform pipelines using n8n, Node-RED, and Databricks. The position sits at the intersection of systems integration, workflow orchestration, API engineering, and data engineering.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain workflow automations using n8n and event-driven flows using Node-RED for real-time data processing, device/system connectivity, and API-based automations.
  • Integrate n8n and Node-RED workflows with Databricks jobs, notebooks, SQL warehouses, and REST APIs.
  • Build automations that trigger Databricks workloads, monitor job status, handle retries, and route outputs to downstream systems.
  • Work with engineering and data teams to move data reliably between SaaS systems, internal services, and the Databricks platform.
  • Implement authentication, secret handling, logging, observability, and error handling across all workflows.
  • Create reusable templates, shared components, and best practices for low-code and API-led integration development.
  • Support CI/CD, testing, version control, and deployment processes for automation and data platform assets.
  • Document workflows, integration patterns, operational runbooks, and architecture decisions.

  • Strong hands-on experience with n8n in production environments.
  • Good practical experience with Node-RED for event-driven flows, REST integrations, and workflow development.
  • Good practical experience with Databricks, especially jobs, notebooks, SQL, and platform/API integration.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, OAuth2, API keys, and service-to-service authentication.
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one scripting language used in data or automation (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging skills across distributed workflows and API-based integrations.
  • Ability to design reliable automations with retry logic, idempotency, monitoring, and alerting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Databricks Jobs API, SQL Statement Execution API, or other Databricks platform APIs.
  • Experience integrating workflow tools with data platforms, message queues, or event streams.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Delta/SQL, or other operational and analytical data stores.
  • Exposure to governance, access control, secrets management, and auditability in regulated environments.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a driven and strategic Senior Platform Administrator (MT4/MT5) to join our team.

Responsibilities
:

  • Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and incident response of MT4/MT5 trading servers, including on-call and weekend maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose complex production issues and liaise directly with MetaQuotes to achieve timely resolution.
  • Test and deploy Windows, server-build, plugin, and application upgrades, including new server installations and integrations.
  • Configure and manage hosting machines, disaster-recovery environments, bridges, liquidity-provider systems, White Labels, and MetaQuotes platforms.
  • Design and implement new platform solutions while leading mid-to-large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and enforce operational procedures and best practices while driving automation and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in IT infrastructure with at least 2 years on trading platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of MetaQuotes MT4/MT5 server administration
  • Expert-level Windows Server administration
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python)
  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Deep understanding of networking (VPN, firewall, routing)
  • Experience with bridge/LP systems (PrimeXM, OneZero)
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead technical team members
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills in English
