A Snapshot of Your Day
In this important and dynamic role, as the BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) Monitoring and Diagnostics Operations Lead, you will lead the further development of the Monitoring and Diagnostics operations team and set an example/role-model with a customer first attitude. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of BESS assets, ensuring their reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance. The role involves both managing daily operational activities as well as strategic improvements in monitoring, diagnostic processes, and predictive maintenance of energy storage systems across our utility-scale projects. You will be responsible for developing the process and procedures to further develop the BDC and set the foundation for the team to be successful.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Real-time monitoring and documentation of BESS performance across multiple sites to ensure continuous operation and maximum efficiency
  • Leadership of diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for BESS components (batteries, inverters, control systems) to minimize downtime
  • Analysis of performance data and implementation of optimization measures in line with industry standards and best practices
  • Development and implementation of predictive maintenance strategies using data analytics and remote monitoring tools
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and commissioning teams to align processes with project goals
  • Leadership, mentoring, and training of monitoring and diagnostic teams as well as deployment of new monitoring, diagnostic, and control technologies

What You Bring

  • University degree in Engineering, Power Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Long-term relevant operational and customer-facing experience in energy infrastructure or power plants, including several years in BESS operation, monitoring, and diagnostics
  • Strong knowledge of BESS technologies and components (batteries, power conversion systems, transformers, controls, monitoring, digitalization) and energy management systems
  • Proven leadership experience with strong collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, including remote diagnostics, fault detection, and use of digital tools (e.g., ticketing systems)
  • Understanding of service models (e.g., LTSAs), performance guarantees, RAMS, and relevant standards, grid codes, and market requirements, combined with project management skills and strong communication skills in english (further European languages are an advantage)

The opportunity
The Service Delivery Manger (SDM) is a member of a Digital and Fraud division.

SDM is the first Point of Contact for Local and Global Product Lines for all topics related to delivery of the services within her/his perimeter.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Service design

Analyze demand, specify requirements with architect services support (ARB), cost deployment and RUN part of the service (global and local).

Establish operating agreements, processes and service levels with Business.

  • Service Deployment & Delivery

Monitor & Control service production implementation (investments, planning, process, configuration, tests,…)

Understand business at functional and technical flows level to provide guidance to technical teams.

Assess together with Ops team impact on SLA/OLA and define common improvement plan.

Ensure that the Change and Release management processes are respected.

Ensure the production readiness before any delivery in production. The called Promote to production for any new IT item, or new software component is under the SDM responsibility.

In case of incidents, manage operational teams to restore service, fix short term issues and manage mid-term problem resolution

Manage the interface with internal customers on operational level.

Save guard quality, availability and continuity of the service delivery.

Control production services costs using the enterprise service costing model.

  • Service Management Planning

Manage capacity planning in regard of the business trends.

Work with the Business to identify new Service needs and opportunities or major structural changes on existing Services.

Who Are We Looking For

  • Graduate degree in informatics or in a cognate discipline or comparable proficiency
  • Capacity and will to work with and learn from the other members of the team.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at an international scale. Open to cultural differences
  • Customer focus, good planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to act with customer orientation and be attentive and responsive to customer concerns, based on an operational interconnection.
  • High Initiative, decisiveness, customer orientation goal-oriented and assertive behavior
  • Good and widespread technical background (Network, System Engineer, Database Administrator) is an asset
  • Knowledge about payment services would be appreciated.
  • Stress resistant and ability to adapt to tight deadlines and dynamically changing priorities
  • Knowledge in standards related to IT (ie PCI DSS, ISO standards, ISAE 3402 …).
  • Indicative GCM : SDM level depending experienced.
  • French spoken and written is mandatory for this position. Main clients are major French banks and French is key in the ecosystem.

  • SQL Expert: Deep understanding of relational databases and complex schemas.

Infrastructure & Tools

  • GitLab: Version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Containerized environments (Kazan): Experience with container-based architectures.
  • AI Toolset (Claude, LibreChat): Leveraging LLMs for code analysis and refactoring.

Domain & Bonus Skills

  • Payments/Fintech: Focus on Acquiring/Issuing flows.
  • Card Schemes & Protocols: Specific knowledge of Visa card scheme releases and the Base II protocol.
