Role description

You understand how complex software delivery can get, and you know how to help engineering teams navigate that complexity. You are a technical advisor who listens closely, speaks clearly, and enjoys helping others solve real infrastructure and workflow challenges.

About JetBrains
We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 organizations, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 companies rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.

What you’ll do

TeamCity is our powerful CI/CD solution, trusted by teams of all sizes to build, test, and deliver software reliably. As our user base grows and enterprise pipelines become more complex, our customers face evolving technical and architectural choices. We need someone who can step in as a trusted technical point of contact to ensure these teams get maximum value from TeamCity, overcome structural bottlenecks, and scale their infrastructure smoothly.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between our users and our internal product teams. You will own the technical relationships for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, ensuring their technical realities and feedback directly shape how we develop TeamCity. You will collaborate closely with Sales to map out long-term account plans, help product teams validate new ideas directly with users, and work independently within a highly distributed global team.

Day To Day, You Will

  • Manage technical relationships for a portfolio of accounts, proactively supporting their growth and keeping them updated on product developments.
  • Help customers adopt TeamCity by assisting with architecture design and guiding them through technical or organizational shifts.
  • Hold regular discovery calls to understand how teams use the product, spot potential issues early, and suggest new features or optimizations.
  • Monitor customer adoption, satisfaction, and overall account health to ensure successful outcomes and renewals.
  • Connect with product teams to present new product ideas and evaluate their fit with your portfolio.
  • Handle customer escalations, balancing expectations between the internal product team and the customer.
  • Travel internationally approximately 20% of the time to visit customer offices or meet face to face at conferences.
  • Partner with Sales to facilitate account expansions by developing short-term and long-term account plans.

What you’ll bring

  • An empathetic, consultant-minded approach to solving technical and business problems for engineering teams.
  • Clear ownership of outcomes, with the ability to work independently across countries and time zones.
  • A collaborative mindset that thrives on building deep, trust-based relationships with external stakeholders.
  • The ability to stay grounded, organized, and flexible when handling customer escalations and shifting priorities.
  • Curiosity about how different teams build software and a drive to constantly improve existing systems.
  • Comfort communicating complex engineering concepts clearly to audiences of varying technical backgrounds.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in technical consulting, technical customer success, solution engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tooling, including CI/CD systems, source control platforms, cloud infrastructure, and containerized environments.
  • Proficiency with software development tools, gained through practical work in software development, QA, system administration, or release automation.
  • A practical understanding or hands-on exposure to AI/LLM applications within software development workflows.
  • Professional fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills for remote and in-person presentations, product demos, and roadmap discussions.
  • The ability to travel internationally as required by the role.

What success looks like

Success in this role means earning your customers' trust through sound architectural guidance and reliable support. You will know you are succeeding when your accounts show high health scores, smooth renewal rates, and clear optimization of their TeamCity setups. Ultimately, your impact will come from turning complex technical challenges into predictable workflows, ensuring our product team receives actionable feedback, and leaving our customers' development pipelines in a better state than you found them.

Why join JetBrains?

  • Strong base salary. We offer competitive pay that reflects your skills and experience.
  • Flexible work schedule. Enjoy the freedom to work from home or from the office.
  • Extra time off. More days to relax, recharge, and do the things you love.

Descriptif du poste

About The Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to lead and grow our platform team while keeping a strong hand on technical direction. You will be responsible for a team of three confirmed / senior platform engineers, and your mission is to make them, and the wider engineering organization, more effective: shipping reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure, and enabling product teams to move fast through strong self-service capabilities.

This is a player-coach role. You will spend most of your time leading: coaching engineers, setting standards, owning the platform roadmap, and partnering with stakeholders. But you will stay close enough to the technology to review work, pair when it matters, and make sound architectural calls with your team.

You will own reliability, security, performance, and cost across both cloud and on-premise environments, and continuously adapt the platform and the team's capabilities to evolving technologies.

Your team

You will lead a team of three confirmed / senior platform engineers. They are experienced and autonomous, so your role is less about directing day-to-day execution and more about giving them clarity, removing friction, growing their scope, and raising the overall technical bar.

Our stack

Back-end
On the back end, the REST API is historically implemented with Django. However, new developments are done with Deno, so TypeScript. The database technology is AWS Aurora with Postgres compatibility, for both Django and Deno servers. With Deno, we use Drizzle as a lightweight ORM. We heavily use Honeycomb and Sentry to understand what goes on at scale. Our coding style in TypeScript is inspired by data-oriented programming.

Front-end
Our web app is a single-page application in Vue.js, partially in TypeScript; we migrate from JavaScript as we go. The front-end application is continuously deployed with Cloudflare Pages, which allows for preview URLs on pull requests. We use Claap to share videos of our work and Sentry to log errors. We also have a mobile application, developed with Vue.js and Capacitor.

Infrastructure
The servers run as containers on AWS. We use ECS and Fargate, and we plan to use EKS in the future. The infrastructure is entirely Terraformed, using CDKTF with TypeScript. A small number of customers have dedicated infrastructures. We also support on-premise deployments using Kubernetes operators, alongside a deployment toolkit built with Nix. For observability, we use Honeycomb, built on OpenTelemetry, giving us structured traces across the stack.

What we expect from the role

Leading the team

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of three confirmed / senior platform engineers, supporting their development through regular feedback, career conversations, and technical mentoring
  • Set and raise the technical bar through reviews, pairing, and clear engineering standards
  • Own hiring for the team and shape how it scales over time
  • Build a healthy, autonomous, high-trust environment where senior platform engineers can do their best work

Owning the platform

  • Own the platform roadmap and technical vision, balancing reliability, security, cost, and delivery speed
  • Deliver infrastructure changes through automation while maintaining high availability and a strong engineering experience
  • Enable engineers to focus on product development by delivering self-service capabilities that abstract infrastructure and security complexity
  • Enable on-premise customers to use Fabriq reliably
  • Adapt organizational and platform capabilities to technological evolutions

Working across the org

  • Partner with engineering, product, and security stakeholders to align priorities and facilitate change management
  • Communicate clearly through documentation, technical decisions, and customer-facing relationships

Profil recherché

Required Experience And Skills
Leadership

  • Experience managing or leading engineers, ideally including senior / confirmed profiles, with a track record of growing people through mentoring and technical guidance
  • Ability to set the technical bar and hold it, with the maturity that comes from significant production experience
  • Strong communication skills for documentation writing, stakeholder alignment, and change management facilitation

Technical foundation
(you should be credible and hands-on enough to lead this team)

  • Significant production experience on AWS using container technologies and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform / Pulumi)
  • Solid production experience with Kubernetes in on-premise / private cloud contexts (storage controller management, advanced networking, control plane management)
  • Very strong networking knowledge (all OSI layers, TLS, DNS, DHCP, routing)

  • Packaging code with Nix and configuring operating systems with NixOS / nix-darwin

Senior DevOps Engineer (AKS / Kubernetes)

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

Contract, 3 months (initial) Remote (UK hours), Outside IR35
We're hiring a senior DevOps engineer to join a small, sharp engineering team building serious infrastructure in the payments space.

You'd work as an embedded part of that team, not a standalone consultant handing work back over the fence.

There's an existing proof-of-concept Azure cluster in place. Your first job is to validate it, then harden and complete it, and take ownership of the platform going forward.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Completing and maintaining an Azure (AKS) cluster and its GitOps pipeline.
  • Hardening security through Azure Managed Identity and proper secrets handling.
  • Owning the MSAL gateway and Databricks authentication flow.
  • Validating the current POC, recommending improvements, and implementing them.
  • Writing the documentation that supports handover and ongoing maintenance.

What we need from you:

  • Strong hands-on AKS and Kubernetes experience at senior level.
  • Solid Azure identity work (Managed Identity, MSAL, secrets).
  • GitOps experience.
  • Comfort picking up someone else's build, assessing it honestly, and improving it.
  • Someone who slots into a team, their repos, their equipment, their ways of working, and gets on with people.

Shape of the work:
Immediate start, though we'll consider people on short notice periods.

Intense for the first 6 to 8 weeks, then moving into ad-hoc, burst-style support across the 3 month term.

UK working hours. Fully remote. You'll work closely with the team's technical lead.

If that's you, apply and we'll move quickly.
