We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our product development team. In this role, you will design, build, and support data migrations, pipelines, and APIs that power web and mobile software applications.

This role focuses on building data solutions that support core business operations and application workflows, not analytics or data science use cases.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with engineers to design and execute data migrations between systems
  • Perform data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness across environments
  • Build and maintain production data pipelines and APIs
  • Develop scripts and services for data movement and validation
  • Model data and analyze source and target schemas
  • Write complex SQL queries and work with relational and NoSQL databases

  • Support the full lifecycle of delivery: design, development, deployment, testing, monitoring, and ongoing support

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
  • Experience working with transactional or financial data is a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering production software solutions
  • Proficient in Python with experience shipping production pipelines
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (SQL Server and MongoDB preferred)
  • Experience building scripts or services for data movement and validation
  • Familiar with Azure data tools (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric) or comparable platforms
  • Experience using Git or other distributed version control systems
  • Familiar with automated deployments and continuous delivery practices
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, testing, security, and performance best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Role Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own and evolve CloudFactory's data platforms, pipelines, and analytical foundations, transforming complex, multi-source data into reliable, business-ready datasets. You will work business-first, partnering closely with product, operations, and leadership teams to define metrics, design scalable data models, and ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and performance. By driving modern data engineering best practices, mentoring teammates, and proactively improving our data ecosystem, you will enable confident, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics architecture across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Develop reliable analytical data models that transform raw data into business-ready datasets
  • Define, implement, and own key business metrics, including semantic layers and supporting data structures
  • Ensure high data quality and reliability by identifying inconsistencies, resolving data issues, and improving monitoring and governance practices
  • Partner with product, operations, finance, and GTM teams to understand analytics needs and deliver actionable insights
  • Manage and optimize data pipeline orchestration, including third-party data ingestions and cost/performance improvements
  • Lead end-to-end ownership of major reporting domains, ensuring accuracy, health, and long-term scalability.
  • Contribute to data engineering standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Mentor junior team members and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and post-mortems, proactively improving system reliability

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering
  • Expert-level SQL, including complex queries and performance optimization
  • Strong Python skills
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling
  • Solid understanding of analytical data modeling techniques. Experience working with both batch and streaming data
  • Experience with Snowflake, ClickHouse, or similar data warehouse technologies
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Fivetran, Airbyte, PeerDB, or similar
  • Experience integrating data from APIs and multiple data sources
  • Experience with data orchestration tools, preferably Prefect
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, QuickSight, Grafana, or similar
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, ECS/Fargate, SNS/SQS)
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD practices in analytics workflows (e.g., Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Customer-focused mindset and comfort working closely with business teams

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and documentation tools (e.g., DataHub, Great Expectations)
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

About The Role
We are building a high-scale payment orchestration platform that processes millions of financial transactions every month across multiple providers, regions, and products.

We are looking for an experienced
OpenSearch Enginee
r to own and scale our AWS OpenSearch infrastructure and the pipelines that synchronize data from PostgreSQL.

You will be responsible for search architecture, data ingestion, performance, reliability, reconciliation, and recovery. The role combines search infrastructure, data engineering, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities
OpenSearch

  • Own and operate AWS OpenSearch Service in production.
  • Design indices, mappings, analyzers, templates, aliases, shards, and retention policies.
  • Optimize search queries, aggregations, filtering, pagination, and bulk indexing.
  • Investigate slow queries, indexing bottlenecks, hot shards, memory pressure, and rejected requests.
  • Plan safe upgrades, migrations, reindexing, and capacity scaling.

PostgreSQL-to-OpenSearch pipelines

  • Build and maintain reliable pipelines that synchronize PostgreSQL data with OpenSearch.
  • Support inserts, updates, deletes, backfills, and full reindexing.
  • Use AWS-native services such as AWS DMS, OpenSearch Ingestion, Lambda, SQS, S3, ECS, or EKS where appropriate.
  • Implement retries, idempotency, deduplication, replay, dead-letter handling, and failure recovery.
  • Monitor ingestion lag, throughput, failed records, and data freshness.
  • Build reconciliation processes to detect and repair missing, stale, or inconsistent documents.
  • Ensure ingestion does not negatively affect the transactional PostgreSQL workload.

Reliability and operations

  • Monitor cluster health, search latency, indexing latency, storage, CPU, JVM pressure, and shard distribution.
  • Build CloudWatch dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
  • Design snapshot, restore, backup, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Participate in production incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Implement secure access using IAM, role-based access control, encryption, and least-privilege principles.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with backend, database, infrastructure, and product teams.
  • Help design efficient OpenSearch document models for payments, customers, subscriptions, and transactions.
  • Define standards for searchable fields, schema changes, and index versioning.
  • Document architecture, data flows, and recovery procedures.
