Tasks

  • "Work on the next generation of a communication gateway for modern intrusion and fire alarm systems;
  • Analyze existing hardware and system architectures, build expertise on the current gateway solution, and identify existing development artifacts as well as future development needs;
  • Identify and evaluate the technical differences between existing products and the future gateway;
  • Aligning technical concepts with relevant system and customer requirements and supporting the development of a future-proof hardware architecture;
  • Supporting hardware development from requirements analysis through circuit design and simulation to verification, approval, and transition to series production;
  • Working closely with hardware architects, software developers, and other project stakeholders;
  • Working in an interdisciplinary project team and coordinating with national and international development partners to implement innovative solutions for our intrusion detection technology;

Requirements

  • "A successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a comparable technical field; In-depth knowledge of hardware development for electronic systems;
  • Experience in circuit design, circuit simulation, layout design, and component selection;
  • Good knowledge of analog and digital circuits;
  • Experience with common development and simulation tools (e.g., PSpice or comparable tools);
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner;
  • Analytical thinking, initiative, and strong teamwork skills;
  • Good understanding of technical relationships and complex systems;
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills for working in an international development environment;

  • Konzeption & Entwicklung: In dieser Rolle erstellst du technische Konzepte und entwickelst Erweiterungen sowie Schnittstellen im SAP EWM (dezentral und S/4HANA Embedded), einschließlich BAdIs, User-Exits, Enhancements und ABAP OO.

  • Fiori/UI5-Entwicklung: Zudem entwickelst du moderne Oberflächen für EWM-Prozesse, etwa zur Modernisierung von RF-Transaktionen und für nutzerfreundliche Apps für Lagermitarbeitende.
  • Spezifikationen & Architektur: Gemeinsam mit der Fachberatung erstellst du technische Spezifikationen, nimmst Aufwandsschätzungen vor und entwickelst tragfähige Architekturkonzepte.
  • Qualität & Betrieb: Darüber hinaus baust du Qualitätsstandards (ATC, Code Inspector, Unit-Tests) auf, optimierst die Performance und unterstützt Release- sowie Transportmanagement; Fehleranalysen und 3rd-Level-Support übernimmst du in agilen Teams.

DEIN PROFIL

  • EWM-Schwerpunkt: Du verfügst über mehrjährige Erfahrung als SAP-Entwickler:in mit klarem Fokus auf EWM – dezentral oder S/4 Embedded.
  • ABAP & Erweiterungen: Sehr gute Kenntnisse in ABAP OO, BAdIs/User-Exits und Enhancements sowie sicherer Umgang mit EWM-spezifischem Developer-Customizing bringst du mit.
  • Integration & Frontend: Idealerweise hast du fundierte Praxis in der Systemintegration (IDoc/ALE, RFC) und OData/REST. Erfahrung mit SAP Fiori/UI5 ist ein Plus sowie Kenntnisse in EWM MFS.

Your main tasks

  • Development of Innovative Algorithms:

Design, development, and optimization of mathematical algorithms in C++ for generating highly precise and efficient toolpaths

  • Further Development of Our Software Architecture:

Shared responsibility for the further development of our software architecture to improve scalability

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration:

Close and agile collaboration with your own team—comprising mathematicians, physicists, and mechanical engineers—as well as with related departments, particularly Product Management and Innovation

Your profile

  • Successful completion of a degree program:

Degree in mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical or scientific field

  • Technical expertise:

Comprehensive expertise in development with C++ and an understanding of modern software architecture; experience with C to understand legacy code is a plus

  • Experience in technical software development:

Practical experience in developing technical software solutions, ideally in the field of CAD/CAM systems, CNC technologies, or industrial control systems

  • Interest in mathematical and software architecture challenges:

Enjoyment of solving mathematical problems—for example, in the fields of differential geometry or computer geometry—as well as further developing our software architecture

Job Description

  • Understand vehicle E/E architecture evolution and resulting impact on MCU (e.g. impact of central compute and zonalization trend)
  • Understand MCU SW ecosystem and architecture and impact on MCU architecture
  • Analyse Software / Hardware tradeoffs
  • Drive thought leadership of innovative concepts disrupting the market
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with key architects at OEMs and leading Tier Ones
  • Follow latest market trends to predict changes in product
  • Closely follow technology trends and predict their impact
  • Closely work with Marketing on Market requirements
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the system meets their needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar required, Masters preferred
  • Vast knowledge in relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of automotive applications. We are looking for several candidates covering those segment:
    • Electrification, e.g. Inverter, DC/DC, Onboard Charger, …
    • Vehicle E/E architecture, e.g. central gateways, zonal ECUs, ECU up integration
  • High level of experience in microcontroller/microprocessor architectures as well as network interfaces (Ethernet, CAN…)
  • Good understanding of software needs for AutoSAR related applications driving the HW architecture
  • Strong customer engagement & experience. Direct experience with Automotive Tier1 or OEMs preferred.
  • Ability to work at the system-level, identifying optimal partitioning of solutions between hardware and software.
  • Comfortable working with the ambiguity inherent in implementing new technologies
  • Good written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English spanning technical contributors, business stakeholders, customers, and management. Information sharing, working as a team player and striving for clarity comes natural to you
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
