Duties

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO), where our mission is to deliver modern and relevant technology that supports the way McDonald’s works. We provide best-in-class foundational technology products and services including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. It’s our goal to always provide an engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers.  

DevOps Engineer Specialist role is part of the Cloud Ecosystem team in Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations.  The role reports to the DevOps Senior Engineer and is responsible for supporting and maturing a Enterprise DevOps pipeline in Cloud.  As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the definition, vision, design, road map and development of product features from beginning to end. You will support the Digital, Data, Engineering, and Restaurant development teams by delivering a scalable, resilient, and secure Cloud DevOps Pipeline and supporting tooling.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help shape the transformation of infrastructure and operations products and services to the entire McDonalds environment.  

Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.

  • Build automation to create and manage AWS Account/Azure Subscription Deploy and manage cloud resource management platform for AWS & Azure

  • Integrate security tools and practices into the CI/CD lifecycle, including SAST, DAST, and SCA (e.g., Snyk).

  • Manage secrets securely using Azure Key Vault and enforce secure coding practices across development teams.

  • Support containerization strategies using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes.

  • Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations.

  • Participate in efforts to drive elimination of technical debt and continuous improvement in delivery speed, quality, value, and applied innovation.

Qualifications  

 

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a DevOps or DevSecOps Engineer, with a strong focus on automation and security.

  • 1+ Years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions, Jenkins.

  • 1+ Years supporting cloud native applications using Azure Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Service Bus.

  • Experience implementing Git flow, branching strategies, repository configurations (policies, security) and automation.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates.

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

  • Proven knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm) with specific focus on C# and .NET.

  • Test automation with Unit Tests for including in pipeline.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across remote teams and a global organization.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in building in templates and pipelines while complying with static code analysis tools and security scanners. Experience with CI/CD tools.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience - scripting and automation via Bash, JSON templates etc.

  • Strong experience in building Kubernetes environment.

The Opportunity

  • Clarify and if necessary, modify route engineering solution based on feedback from performance in field (Execute)
  • Build reports to follow up on solution delivery performance with Route Planning Coordinator (Support)
  • Support on Strategic Routing continuous improvement plan and implementation (Support)
