About the Role

We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer with a strong passion for Secure Software Development, Vulnerability Management, and Security Compliance Monitoring. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business’s information security, taking the lead in audits at Ketryx by leveraging their expertise in audit preparation and participation.

As part of a dynamic team, your mission will be to enhance and streamline CI/CD workflows at Ketryx, oversee and optimize our AWS infrastructure, address internal IT requirements, and ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and certifications, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001. You will secure our cloud infrastructure using cutting-edge technologies while driving innovation and operational excellence.

This is a hybrid role in Vienna, with at least three days per week on-site. We’re open to remote for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Certification:
    Maintain SOC 2 certification and other relevant standards, ensuring successful completion of all related audits.
  • Customer Assurance:
    Respond effectively to IT/security questionnaires from current and potential customers.
  • CI/CD Optimization:
    Deliver an efficient and high-performing CI/CD build process.
  • Security Excellence:
    Implement and uphold security best practices across systems and workflows.
  • Incident Management:
    Promptly address vulnerabilities and manage security incidents to minimize risk.
  • Infrastructure Optimization:
    Maintain and continually enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of server infrastructure.

 

Required Skills

  • Industry Experience:
    A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the DevSecOps or related engineering fields (e.g., DevOps & compliance field).
  • AWS Expertise:
    Proficiency in configuring and maintaining AWS infrastructure such as EC2, VPC, ECS, IAM, RDS. AWS certification is a strong plus.
  • CI/CD Proficiency:
    Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    Expertise in using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate and manage cloud environments.
  • Audit Experience:
    Hands-on involvement in audits such as SOC 2 and HIPAA, with a preference for candidates who have led audit processes.
  • Container Security:
    Ability to research, implement, and enforce security best practices for containers and container images across all development and deployment phases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Ability to work effectively with developers, sales teams, sales engineers, and client operations to address security questionnaires and related requirements.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Database Management:
    Previous experience managing and optimizing databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is a strong asset.
  • Certifications:
    Professional certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, or CISA are considered as a plus.
  • Compliance Tools:
    Familiarity with GRC/compliance automation platforms such as Drata (or similar tools like Vanta, Secureframe) for managing SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA compliance is a plus.

Your role — Lead and evolve our DevOps infrastructure

  • Spearhead the migration of our current VM stack to containerized & orchestrated environments using technologies like Podman, Elastic and Kubernetes.
  • Design, implement, and manage automation processes for our infrastructure to boost efficiency and reliability (GitOps).
  • Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and security issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth migration and deployment of applications.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Train the team around DevOps practices and methodology.

What you bring — Your profile

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Debian flavors preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Podman and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes in an high-availability environment.
  • Experience with on-prem infrastructure and self-managed k8s clusters.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and a willingness to learn and document new knowledge and skills within Confluence.
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.

As a Development Project Manager, you will be at the centre of our software product organisation. Working closely with Product Management, Product Owners and multiple development teams, you will steer product releases from planning to delivery while ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards and regulatory requirements.

This role offers significant autonomy and responsibility. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, drives topics proactively and can confidently collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Tasks

  • Drive the successful delivery of software product releases within agreed timelines, budgets and quality targets
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Requirements Engineering and Product Owners to turn business goals into product outcomes
  • Coordinate multiple development teams and support them throughout the release lifecycle
  • Lead and facilitate activities related to Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance, including vulnerability management and risk analysis initiatives
  • Continuously monitor product progress, performance indicators and release readiness
  • Communicate project status, achievements and key metrics to internal stakeholders and management
  • Drive continuous improvements within the Agile Release Train, including processes, collaboration and product increment delivery
  • Support the evolution of product analytics and reporting capabilities to enable more data-driven decisions

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, IT Security or a related technical discipline
  • Solid understanding of modern software development environments (e.g. Java or Kotlin)
  • Experience working with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, or similar collaboration platforms
  • Understanding of software dependency management, version control, and related tools (e.g. Git, Maven)
  • Knowledge of agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
  • A structured, self-driven working style combined with a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, personalities, and teams
  • Ability to break down complex topics, communicate them clearly, and drive them to completion
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10%)

Nice to Have

  • Several years of experience in software development, product ownership, or a similar technical role
  • Knowledge of modern software architectures, including microservices, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems
  • Interest in or exposure to software security topics, particularly vulnerability management and secure software development practices
  • Familiarity with common web and software vulnerabilities as well as security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 and OWASP SAMM
