Role description

With 25 print magazines, numerous special editions, and 19 online platforms, we reach more than half of Hungary's population every month.

We are currently looking for a Mid-Level
Linux Infrastructure Engineer
to join our IT team and actively contribute to the stable, secure, and highly available operation of our digital and print products.

Tasks

  • Operating and developing the server infrastructure supporting our online and print products
  • Managing and maintaining Linux-based systems (CentOS, Debian)
  • Performing day-to-day system administration and operational tasks
  • Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues, while developing preventive solutions
  • Monitoring services, fine-tuning systems, and optimizing performance
  • Evaluating and implementing new technologies
  • Providing L2/L3 support for software and hardware-related issues
  • Collaborating with developers, vendors, and external partners
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and operational procedures

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Linux system administrator (in CentOS and/or Debian environments)
  • Strong operational knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: NGINX, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols, including: DNS, DHCP, WireGuard, IP routing, VLANs
  • Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure and server operations
  • Communicative level of English

Preferences

  • Experience operating network operating systems such as ArubaOS, VyOS, or RouterOS
  • Experience managing VMware vSphere environments
  • System administration-level scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, PHP)
  • Knowledge of enterprise server and storage technologies (HPE, Dell, SuperMicro, IBM, Fibre Channel, iSCSI)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Cloudflare services
  • Experience operating monitoring systems
