Junior UI Developer

Pixel Systems

Munich

Role description

We are adding a Junior UI Developer to our team to help build internal interfaces for a major German logistics provider based in Munich. This project involves moving away from cluttered spreadsheets and toward clean, functional dashboards that their operations teams use to track shipments and manage warehouse inventory. Because we are a fully remote company, you will be working with a distributed team of developers and designers to create tools that solve real problems for people on the ground. The goal is simple: build interfaces that make complex data easy to read and act upon.

About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency. We do not spend our time on flashy consumer apps or marketing sites that focus on aesthetics over utility. Instead, we build the practical tools that companies actually need to run their businesses. This includes things like admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that others might avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get different software tools to communicate with each other.

We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we perform weekly demos, and we hand over everything when we are finished: the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like React, Node, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy for our clients to maintain long after we are gone.

The Role
As a Junior UI Developer, you will spend your time turning layouts and wireframes into working web interfaces. This role is not about creating trendy animations or marketing slogans. It is about making sure a warehouse manager can find a specific pallet number quickly or that an operations lead can see if a truck is running behind schedule at a glance. You will work closely with our senior team to implement layouts in React, ensuring that the components are clean and that the data from our APIs displays correctly.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Building and maintaining UI components using HTML, CSS, and React.
  • Translating design files into functional, responsive web pages.
  • Connecting frontend components to existing APIs to display live logistics data.
  • Testing interfaces across different browsers to ensure they are stable and usable.
  • Fixing bugs and making small layout adjustments based on client feedback during our weekly demos.
  • Writing clear documentation so that our clients understand how to manage their new tools.
  • Collaborating with the backend team to ensure data flows correctly to the user interface.

What You Bring
We are looking for someone who has a solid grasp of the basics. You should understand how to structure a page using semantic HTML and how to style it effectively with CSS. We value organization and the ability to follow a design guide closely. Since this is a fully remote role, you must be a clear communicator in writing and comfortable using recorded videos to explain your work or ask questions. We look for people who are okay with work that is functional rather than flashy and who appreciate the value of a clear, well-placed button over a complex visual effect.

Helpful Background

While this is an entry-level position, there are a few things that will help you get started:

  • Basic familiarity with React or a similar JavaScript framework from your studies or personal projects.
  • An understanding of how to use Git and GitHub for version control.
  • A general curiosity about how data moves from a database to a web page.
  • Experience with CSS frameworks or preprocessors.
  • The ability to look at a complex set of requirements and break them down into smaller tasks.
  • Interest in learning more about Node.js or Postgres to better understand the full stack.

Working at Pixel Systems
Working here means joining a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. There are no layers of management to navigate and no corporate drama to deal with. We focus on shipping code that helps real people do their jobs better. We offer a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry-level role, and we make sure you have the support you need to learn our specific workflow. You will see your work being used by operations teams every day, which provides a level of satisfaction that you do not always get from building consumer-facing products.

We are a team that values honesty and steady progress. We do not expect you to know everything on day one, but we do expect you to be curious and willing to learn how we build stable, reliable software. We maintain a calm work environment where clarity and documentation are prioritized so that everyone knows what is expected of them.

Role description

Build the platform where Belgium feels at home.
For over 30 years, Immoweb has been more than just a platform; we are the digital heartbeat of the Belgian real estate market. From first apartments to forever homes, we bridge the gap between dreams and reality for millions of users every month.

Our mission: to inspire, guide and close every home move in Belgium. We make real estate fast, transparent, and stress-free through world-class technology and human-centric support. We are dedicated to connecting people with their property goals, ensuring that at Immoweb, your work has an immediate, nationwide impact from day one.

Your Mission
Who we are
Immoweb is Belgium's leading real estate portal, part of AVIV Group, Europe's largest network of digital real estate marketplaces. Every month, hundreds of thousands of people use our iOS app to search, save, and get alerted about the properties that matter to them. We're currently modernising our native codebase — moving from an older UIKit/MVVM stack to a leaner, more testable Swift 6 architecture — while keeping the app running reliably for our existing user base.

The Seeker squad
You'll join Seeker, a full-stack squad (iOS, Android, Web, Backend, Design) that owns the end-to-end property search and discovery experience: search, filters, saved searches and alerts, and the property detail page. We work in close collaboration with product and design, ship through CI/CD, and care about shipping quality features that scale to hundreds of thousands of daily users.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build native iOS features for the Immoweb app, working closely with our Android, Web, Backend, and Design counterparts on shared feature sets.
  • Contribute to our ongoing migration from UIKit/legacy patterns to SwiftUI, @Observable, and Point-Free's modular architecture libraries.
  • Write clean, testable code (XCTest / Swift Testing) and review your teammates' work.
  • Continuously improve app quality, performance, and stability for a large, active user base.
  • Ship through our CI/CD pipeline in close collaboration with product managers.
  • Be a driving force behind new features — search relevance, alerts, personalisation — and technical improvements alike.
  • Share knowledge with the team and help raise the bar on iOS engineering practices across Immoweb.

What You Bring

  • Solid, hands-on experience building production iOS apps in Swift, ideally including Swift 6 and iOS 18.
  • Strong SwiftUI experience; comfort with @Observable and modern state management patterns.
  • Good understanding of Swift Concurrency (async/await); exposure to RxSwift is a plus, as parts of our codebase are mid-migration.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to adopt, Point-Free's à la carte libraries (swift-dependencies, swift-sharing, swift-navigation, swift-case-paths).
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with Moya is a plus.
  • A solid grasp of software architecture and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Basic knowledge of unit and UI testing (XCTest / Swift Testing).
  • Comfort working with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub).
  • Excellent communication skills; you're a team player who shares knowledge openly.
  • English is mandatory; French or Dutch are strong assets given our Belgian market.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Swift Package Manager.
  • Familiarity with the Composable Architecture (TCA) or similar unidirectional architectures.
  • Experience with A/B testing and product analytics/tracking.
  • Experience with Bitrise or similar CI/CD tooling.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
  • Experience contributing to or consuming a design system.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence; experience working in Scrum.

What We Offer

  • A friendly, quality-first engineering culture where you'll help modernise a widely-used app.
  • Real ownership over features used by hundreds of thousands of people every day.
  • Hybrid working, with the option to be based in Brussels or Bucharest.
  • Opportunities for growth — training, conferences, and mentorship within a full-stack squad.
  • The autonomy to work in the way that makes you most productive, and a say in the tools you use.
