Solution Architect

Global Payments Inc.

Bucharest

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

Ready to take your career global?
Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join our ever-evolving Payouts team and help shape the future of global commerce.

What You’ll Own
You will define target architectures, set engineering standards, and work closely with product, platform, and delivery teams to translate business goals into robust technical solutions. Ideal candidates combine strong systems thinking with hands-on knowledge of cloud-native patterns, eventing, APIs, and DevSecOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture and Design
  • Define target and transitional architectures for microservices-based systems, including domain boundaries, service contracts, and data ownership.
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts: context diagrams, sequence diagrams, service interaction models, API specifications, and deployment topologies.
  • Select and standardize architectural patterns (e.g., event-driven architecture, choreography vs. orchestration, CQRS, saga patterns, API gateway/BFF).
  • Ensure designs address non-functional requirements: scalability, reliability, performance, security, observability, and cost efficiency.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Provide hands-on guidance to engineering teams on service decomposition, API design, data modeling, and cloud-native implementation.
  • Establish and champion coding and design standards, reference implementations, and reusable templates.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, and design walkthroughs; manage technical risk and drive remediation plans.
  • Governance and Quality
  • Define guardrails for microservices (e.g., versioning, backward compatibility, resilience patterns, health checks, retries/circuit breakers, idempotency).
  • Partner with platform/DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and runtime policies align with architectural standards.
  • Drive observability-by-design: metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and incident postmortems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work with product managers to align technical roadmaps with business outcomes and OKRs.
  • Communicate complex architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; facilitate trade-off discussions.
  • Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Data teams to meet regulatory and data governance requirements.
  • Roadmapping and Innovation
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and managed services; perform proofs of concept and ROI assessments.
  • Contribute to the evolution of domain-driven design across the organization; mentor engineers and junior architects.

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years in software engineering/architecture with 4+ years designing and delivering microservices at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD), bounded contexts, and service granularity.
  • API design (RESTful, gRPC) and event-driven patterns (Kafka, Pulsar, SNS/SQS, or similar).
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and core services (e.g., ECS/EKS/AKS/GKE, API Gateway, Lambda/Functions, IAM).
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), service mesh (Istio/Linkerd) and ingress.
  • Data architectures for microservices: polyglot persistence, transactional boundaries, eventual consistency, and streaming.
  • Reliability and scalability patterns: circuit breakers, bulkheads, timeouts, backoff/retry, rate limiting, caching.
  • Observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Jaeger/Zipkin.
  • CI/CD and DevSecOps: GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), security scanning, secrets management.
  • Solid experience with at least one modern language and framework (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, Go, or Python/FastAPI).
  • Demonstrated track record leading complex programs from architecture through production, including migration from monoliths to microservices.

Platform Engineer

Senior Builder RTCDP Frontier Pod

Adobe

Bucharestsenior

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

The Opportunity
Adobe Real-Time CDP enables enterprises to unify customer data acrossevery source, resolve identity at scale, and activate audiences in real timeacross any channel. The platform processes billions of events, enforces datagovernance across complex enterprise hierarchies, and powers thepersonalization layer for some of the world's largest brands.

You will join one of our
Frontier AI Pods
— a small, cross-functional teamwith full ownership that delivers end-to-end capabilities and features askedby regional EMEA customers.

This is not a maintenance role. The capabilities are delivered fast tocustomers and your Pod iterates in making sure adoption is guaranteed.

What You'll Build

  • Distributed services and event-driven pipelines that process real-timecustomer data at enterprise scale
  • Secure data collaboration capabilities — the infrastructure that allowsorganizations to connect, share, and activate data across partnerecosystems without compromising governance
  • Workflow orchestration services coordinating cross-system flows acrossAEP, RTCDP, and external data platforms
  • Reliable, observable APIs consumed by multiple Adobe products andenterprise integrations
  • Production systems with defined SLOs — you own services from designthrough live operation

What Success Looks Like
We hire for demonstrated delivery, not credential accumulation. Strong candidates will show:

  • Correctness as a design instinct — you build distributed systemswhere data integrity, idempotency, and audit trails are first-classconcerns, not retrofits
  • Production ownership — a track record of shipping services thatoperate at scale, degrade gracefully, and recover without humanintervention
  • Customer-to-capability translation — you move fluently between whata customer needs and what the system must do, collapsing the gapbetween requirement and working platform feature
  • AI-augmented execution — you use AI-assisted development tools(Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) as a standard partof how you design, build, and review code
  • System-level thinking — you understand not only how distributedsystems work, but why the tradeoffs you made were the right ones forthe context

Typical background: 8+ years building Java-based systems in production. What matters is what that experience has produced, not the number of years.
