Role description

Location: Milano - Italy
Department: Others
About Philogen

Philogen S.p.A. is a biotechnology company dedicated to developing targeted products for the imaging and treatment of life-threatening diseases, with a strategic focus on oncology. Our mission is to translate cutting-edge scientific innovation into effective therapies that improve patients’ lives.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Life Sciences Solutions Engineer who combines strong coding skills with deep expertise in at least one of the following areas:

  • Pharmaceutical quality systems or quality control.
  • GxP, computerized-system compliance, or regulated software validation.
  • Clinical trial operations, clinical data management, or trial oversight.

This is not a documentation-only compliance role. You will inspect data, write code, configure and test systems, and work directly with engineers, clinical teams, quality specialists, and business stakeholders. You will guide the introduction of production-grade AI and data systems into regulated workflows.

What You Will Do

  • Translate pharmaceutical and clinical requirements into implementable data models, workflows and access rules.
  • Guide software deployment through the applicable quality, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Determine which regulatory frameworks apply to each use case rather than treating every healthcare system as subject to identical controls.
  • Analyze clinical trial data covering studies, sites, subjects, visits, forms, observations, queries, reviews, medical coding, and audit history.
  • Define and test controls for sensitive information, including role-based access, separation of duties, approvals, and audit trails.
  • Produce and maintain documentation such as intended-use definitions, risk assessments, traceability matrices, validation plans, test evidence, operating procedures, and change records.
  • Work with quality, clinical, security, legal, and engineering stakeholders to resolve differences between written procedures and actual system behavior.
  • Support technical workshops, deployment planning, validation, training, and post-deployment reviews.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or a comparable hands-on technical role.
  • Deep professional expertise in at least one of pharmaceutical quality, regulated computerized systems, or clinical trials.
  • Strong coding skills, preferably in Python, together with practical SQL and data-modeling experience.
  • Ability to understand complex data pipelines and trace how a source record is transformed, connected, exposed, and audited.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with software engineers and specialists from quality, clinical operations, data management, and compliance.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, CRO, technology consultancy, or regulated cloud/software environment.
  • Strong professional English and the ability to produce precise technical and validation documentation.
  • High daily engagement with modern AI tools and an interest in the responsible deployment of agent-based systems.

Relevant Areas of Expertise

Candidates are not expected to know every framework below, but should have substantial practical experience in those relevant to their previous work:

  • ICH Good Clinical Practice and clinical trial data governance.
  • GxP and pharmaceutical quality systems.
  • Computerized-system validation and risk-based Computer Software Assurance.
  • EU Annex 11 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
  • GDPR and health-data access controls.
  • ALCOA+ data-integrity principles.
  • Clinical data management, electronic data capture, source-data review, clinical queries, coding, and trial audit trails.
  • EU medical-device or software regulation where applicable to a system’s intended use.
  • Quality risk management, change control, deviation management, CAPA, and supplier qualification.

Nice to Have

  • Experience delivering infrastructure, data, or AI platforms for pharmaceutical customers.
  • Familiarity with clinical data standards such as CDISC ODM, SDTM, or ADaM.
  • Experience with electronic data-capture systems, clinical trial management systems, quality-management systems, laboratory systems, or regulatory document platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, Kubernetes, identity management, RBAC, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, AI agents, retrieval systems, or governed generative-AI deployments.
  • Experience participating in audits, inspections, validation reviews, or regulated customer-qualification processes.
  • A professional background as a software engineer, data engineer, or solutions architect before specializing in life sciences.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • A mixed technical and life-sciences background is strongly preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials with international exposure.

What We Offer

  • Full-time employment under the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry CCNL.
  • Competitive gross annual salary ranging from €70,000 to €110,000 RAL. Positioning within the salary range will be determined based on objective and neutral criteria, taking into account the candidate’s skills, experience, and the level of responsibility associated with the role, as assessed throughout the selection process.
  • A hands-on role at the intersection of software engineering, clinical operations, and pharmaceutical compliance.
  • The opportunity to define how AI-enabled systems are validated and introduced into regulated workflows.
  • Direct exposure to leadership and high-impact projects across Philogen.
  • The opportunity to contribute to applied AI across both operational and scientific workflows.
  • A fast-moving, engineering-driven environment focused on real delivery rather than prototypes.

Role description

DESCRIPTION

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our

customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team in the Greater Milan Area. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.

The Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The CE serves as an expert technical resource interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations and to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers.

Also expected from the CE is the ability to manage large scale impacting projects and new region support from conception to completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, procurement, and finance in both local and global settings. The CE will be tasked with creating and delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results for future implementation at other facilities. The goals of such projects are for the CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

The CE directs, trains and supports EOTs in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific training exercises is also expected. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

The role will be based in the Greater Milan area, however flexibility is required to travel to other locations within the EMEA region if required.

Key job responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in data centers
  • Assist in the design and build out of new facilities
  • Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center region and work OT hours as needed to support site stability
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Troubleshoot and report of facility and data sever-level events within internal SLA
  • Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams
  • Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assisting in recruiting efforts for the same
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff
  • Utilize internal Change Management Systems to manage building workflows
  • MV/LV Isolation to facilitate MV maintenance
  • Provide metric availability reporting on a weekly basis

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competencies and behaviors:

  • Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Ability to maintain SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and immediate response.
  • Proven experience of reading SLDs and control schematics.
  • Ability to follow support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries into a trouble ticket system.
  • Shows good judgment and instincts in decision making.
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate their ability to take ownership of technical issues brought to them by their customer base

Physical Requirements:

  • Work at heights and from ladders.
  • Perform physical tasks
  • Work in a noisy environment with ear protection

**To apply, please submit a detailed copy of your CV in English**

Working location:

Our data centers are located in remote areas outside Milan, where access via public transport may be limited. Therefore, a valid driving license is required for this role.

Work Schedule:

This is a 100% in-person onsite position due to the hands-on nature of managing mission-critical infrastructure. The role follows standard working hours (8 AM – 5 PM Milan time from Mo - Fri) with no shift work.

Working language:

Please be advised that the interview process at AWS will be conducted in English, as we are an international team based in the Greater Milan area.

Forward Deployed Engineer Manager

Accenture Italia

Milan

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

Role Description
This is not a consulting role. It is not a project delivery role. It is not a research position. A Forward Deployed AI Engineer is a production engineer who works embedded inside a client's enterprise, shoulder to shoulder with their teams, to make complex AI platforms work in real, messy organizational environments. You own outcomes: time-to-value, adoption, reliability, and scalability. Not delivery milestones. Outcomes.

The market is beginning to understand what leading technology companies have demonstrated: AI products fail not because the models are weak but because deployment is broken. The gap between a successful AI pilot and an AI capability that scales is bridged by engineers who can translate platform capability into measurable business value inside a real enterprise environment. That is this role.

Forward Deployed AI Engineers form the execution spine of our Reinvention Deployment Engineering pods. We are building the largest FDE capability in the services industry. The engineers who join at this stage will define what the role looks like at scale and will have access to the hardest enterprise AI problems in the market across every industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise AI platform deployments across complex multi-stakeholder client environments — Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, SAP, or Palantir — owning the full programme from architecture through adoption

  • Own programme-level delivery outcomes: time-to-value, reliability, adoption velocity, and scalability across multiple concurrent workstreams, with commercial metrics attached

  • Lead rapid experimentation at pace: drive ambiguous business problems to working production systems in days or weeks across complex enterprise environments

  • Architect and govern enterprise AI solutions across the full technology stack: identity, data, security, governance, platform layer, and multi-system workflow integration at programme scale

  • Shape AI reinvention strategy for client CTO, CFO, and CISO: build value architecture, ROI backlogs, use case prioritisation frameworks, and multi-year AI adoption roadmaps

  • Define and publish reusable reinvention blueprints, patterns, and accelerators that scale across multiple client engagements and grow the FDE practice

  • Lead architecture design sessions, executive workshops, and code-with sessions with client engineering and C-suite leadership teams

  • Codify delivery learnings, failure patterns, and engineering standards that shape the FDE practice and enable the next generation of forward deployed engineers

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to role, level, seniority, responsibility, skillset, and level of experience. For this position, the job level is under the A1 National Collective Bargaining Agreement. The gross annual salary range is between 50,000 and 86,700 EUR.
Basic Qualifications

  • Extensive and demonstrable engineering experience with cloud-native systems (APIs, microservices, containerization, serverless).

  • Deep expertise in designing and deploying agentic solutions (agents, orchestration, context engineering, RAG, workflows) in production environments.

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience with AI platforms — OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI, plus open-source models — including building abstraction layers to manage multi-provider pipelines.

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience leading software engineering teams: overseeing delivery, allocating resources across workstreams, and owning the professional development of direct reports"

  • Demonstrated end-to-end delivery ownership in a client-embedded environment, internal projects, vendor labs, or team-only deployments do not qualify

  • Proven ability to articulate business value: can quantify the impact of deployments in terms a CFO would recognize and act on

  • Experience presenting to and building trust with senior client stakeholders, CTO, CFO, or CISO level

  • Non-linear profiles are expected and welcomed, assessment is based on demonstrated deployment experience and outcome ownership, not CV pattern matching

  • People lead responsibilities: experience managing, developing, and performance-managing a team of engineers; setting individual development plans and conducting career conversations
