If you want meaningful work, visible impact and put something genuinely rare on your CV, keep reading.
About The Role
At Camunda, we build the platform behind mission-critical process orchestration for customers worldwide. This role is central to that work.

The Manager, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering leads the team that runs the cloud infrastructure behind Camunda's SaaS offering, keeping it reliable, scalable, and secure as the company grows. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who has built and run Kubernetes-based, multi-cloud infrastructure in production and can help a team do the same.

Working fully remote across time zones, this person creates clarity and keeps the team moving. We want someone who uses AI regularly in their infrastructure work, for automation, faster analysis, and tighter operations, and who has thought carefully about where guardrails belong.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and grow the team that runs Camunda's SaaS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on execution and strong engineering culture.
  • Guide the design, delivery, and evolution of Kubernetes-based, multi-cloud infrastructure, with reliability, scalability, and security as the baseline.
  • Work with product engineering, security, support, and other engineering leaders to make sure the platform lets teams ship safely and efficiently.
  • Keep raising the bar on infrastructure automation, developer tooling, and platform guardrails so the service scales without adding friction.
  • Define how the team uses AI as a repeatable part of infrastructure work: ops analysis, automation, incident response, documentation.
  • Balance day-to-day operational stability with longer-term investments in multi-cloud expansion and new infrastructure capabilities.

What You Bring

  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.
  • 3 - 5 years experience leading engineers who build and run production infrastructure for a SaaS product.
  • Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or a related domain.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience in production, including scaling, reliability, and cluster lifecycle.
  • Experience working across more than one major cloud provider and understanding the trade-offs of running multi-cloud.
  • Track record of working with senior engineers and stakeholders across teams to deliver major infrastructure improvements while raising reliability, scalability and keeping a focus on security.
  • Strong people leadership: coaching, managing performance, setting priorities, and building an environment where engineers can do their best work.
  • Clear thinking about where AI fits in infrastructure engineering work, with judgment about what's useful, repeatable, and responsible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience running global or multi-region SaaS infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code, policy as code, and platform automation.
  • Experience improving observability, incident management, or reliability for cloud-native systems.
  • Experience with cloud cost management, platform guardrails, or other tools that help teams make better infrastructure decisions.

Role description

Join ABBYY and be part of a team that celebrates your unique work style. With flexible work options, a supportive team, and rewards that reflect your value, you can focus on what matters most – driving your growth, while fueling ours.

Our commitment to respect, transparency, and simplicity means you can trust us to always choose to do the right thing.

As a trusted partner for purpose-built AI and intelligent automation, we solve highly complex problems for our enterprise customers and put their information to work to transform the way they do business. Over 10,000 customers trust ABBYY, including many Fortune 500 ones. You will work on further developing a portfolio already containing client names such as DHL, Johnson & Johnson, FDA, DMV, PwC, KeyBank, Spotify, and H&R BLOCK.

About the role:
ABBYY Vantage is our flagship Document AI platform – a cloud-native, microservices-based product that combines purpose-built AI, OCR, NLP, and direct LLM integration to help enterprise customers extract, classify, and act on data from any document. Vantage 3.0, our latest release, introduces native Azure OpenAI integration, enterprise-grade compliance and redaction, a real-time analytics dashboard, and a growing library of pre-configured AI skills. Over 10,000 customers trust ABBYY – including Fortune 500 companies like DHL, Johnson & Johnson, FDA, PwC, KeyBank, Spotify, and H&R Block – to automate their most complex document workflows.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a senior technical leader on the Vantage platform. You will drive the design and delivery of complex, cross-cutting capabilities – spanning document AI pipelines, LLM integrations, compliance infrastructure, analytics, and platform extensibility. Beyond your own code, you will act as a technical multiplier: influencing architectural decisions, setting quality standards, and developing the engineers around you. This is a role for someone who leads through depth, judgment, and impact.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Drive the technical design and delivery of significant Vantage platform capabilities, from architecture and API contracts through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Quality & Standards: Define and uphold engineering standards for the Vantage codebase – covering code quality, service reliability, performance, security, and compliance – and drive their adoption across teams.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Act as a senior technical voice in cross-functional planning with product management, ML engineering, cloud architecture, and engineering leadership; translate business priorities into actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Platform Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve Vantage platform health at scale: service decomposition, observability, CI/CD maturity, and developer productivity.
  • Operational Excellence: Own high-severity incident response for Vantage cloud services; drive post-mortems and systemic reliability improvements.
  • Engineering Mentorship: Mentor Senior and Principal Engineers on the Vantage team; build a culture of technical rigor, shared ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Technical Innovation: Evaluate and champion adoption of new technologies – from GenAI model integrations to cloud-native tooling – that strengthen ABBYY's Document AI differentiation.

Job Requirements:

  • 10–13 years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in C++
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple programming languages, and willingness to work with both C# .NET and C++
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying workflows using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Strong command of microservices architecture, distributed system design, and cloud-native patterns at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor Senior and Mid-level Engineers and partner with Engineering Managers on technical direction
  • Experience leading technical design reviews and influencing architectural decisions across team and product boundaries

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in cloud, preferably using Microsoft Azure (AKS, Storage, Key Vaults, Azure SQL or equivalent)
  • Track record of delivering production-grade systems that meet enterprise compliance, security, and reliability standards
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating workflow-driven systems (orchestration, retries, timeouts, and state management)
  • Experience integrating Machine Learning, Neural Networks or LLMs into enterprise applications and workflows
  • Comfort operating across a globally distributed engineering organization spanning multiple regions and cultures

Salary Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is between
25,000,000 HUF and 26,000,000 HUF annually
. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority compared to others performing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee that an offer will be at the top of the posted range, as compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
