Role description

On behalf of our client, a payment-provider orchestration company, we are looking for a
Mid-Level Full-Stack Engineer
to join their growing engineering team.

About Our Client

Our client is building a payment-provider orchestration platform that helps businesses integrate, manage, and switch between payment services without rebuilding their systems each time.

They value thoughtful engineering, simple solutions, open communication, and products that work reliably. Their engineers contribute across the whole product lifecycle — shaping requirements, weighing technical trade-offs, building, testing, and deploying.

If you want to work across the full stack, take real ownership, and help shape a growing fintech product, we would like to hear from you.

The Role

We are looking for a
Mid-Level Full-Stack Engineer
to build and own reliable web applications across the frontend, API, and data layers.

You will work mainly in TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, in close collaboration with product, design, and other engineers. You will own meaningful parts of features end to end — from shaping the requirement to running it in production — with support and technical guidance from the team.

This is a role with room to influence how the team builds. As the product and team grow, you will be expected to help shape engineering practices, not just follow them.

Their Stack

TypeScript · React · Next.js · Tailwind CSS · Node.js · Express · PostgreSQL · Drizzle ORM · Zod · AWS · Git

AI tooling: Claude Code CLI · Codex CLI · AI-assisted code review

How They Work with AI

AI-assisted development is part of how the team builds, not an optional extra. Their engineers use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code CLI and Codex CLI every day — to write and refactor code, explore unfamiliar parts of the codebase, generate tests, and support code review.

They also build AI-driven features into the product itself, so you will work with AI frameworks and APIs as part of normal engineering work.

At this level, more than usage is expected. You should have a clear view of where these tools add real leverage and where they introduce risk, hold a high bar when reviewing AI-generated code, and help the team develop sensible practices around AI-assisted development. Prior experience with specific tools is welcome but not essential — a real willingness to work this way is.

What You Will Do

  • Build product features end to end in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js
  • Create responsive, accessible, and polished user interfaces
  • Design and integrate REST APIs with Express
  • Model and query relational data with PostgreSQL and Drizzle ORM
  • Define and validate application boundaries with Zod
  • Work with product, design, and engineering to shape features, not just implement them
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code CLI and Codex CLI in your daily workflow, and apply a high bar when reviewing their output
  • Work with AI frameworks and APIs as the team builds AI-driven capabilities into the product
  • Help shape how the team uses AI-assisted development effectively and safely
  • Take part in code reviews, technical discussions, and deployments
  • Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of the applications
  • Help raise engineering standards as the product and team grow

What You Will Bring

  • Typically 2–5 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong TypeScript skills, with React or another modern frontend framework
  • Backend experience with Node.js and REST APIs
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
  • A track record of delivering features across frontend, backend, and persistence layers
  • A solid grasp of HTTP, data modelling, validation, and error handling
  • Experience writing automated tests and working in Git-based workflows
  • Genuine openness to AI-assisted development — working daily with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code CLI or Codex CLI, and with AI frameworks in the product
  • The judgement to review AI-generated code rigorously and full ownership of anything you submit
  • Sound technical judgement, strong problem-solving skills, and a high bar for quality
  • The ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and ask the right questions early
  • Clear written and spoken English

What's on Offer

  • Meaningful ownership — take features from initial requirement through to production
  • Room to influence — contribute to product decisions and the technical direction of a growing platform
  • Private health insurance — support for your health and wellbeing
  • Learning budget — for courses and certifications
  • Modern tooling — paid access to leading AI coding tools and everything else you need to do your best work
  • Technical breadth — frontend, backend, databases, testing, and cloud infrastructure
  • High standards, light process — thoughtful engineering without unnecessary bureaucracy
  • A collaborative team — open communication, honest feedback, and room for different perspectives
