Apply on the employer's site

Role description

We are seeking a high-impact
Technical Lead Front-End
to serve as the technical authority for our front-end ecosystem across major international digital projects. This is a senior-level Individual Contributor role focused on shaping front-end architecture, establishing engineering excellence, and acting as a strategic consultant to stakeholders. You will drive technical best practices and solve complex engineering challenges while ensuring our solutions remain scalable, secure, and world-class.

Excelling at cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Product, Infrastructure, Design and Backend teams to ensure seamless integration is key for the success of the role.

Beyond internal development, you will act as a strategic technical consultant in customer interactions, bridging the gap between complex technical solutions and business objectives to drive project success on a global scale.

For this role you must be able to work on a hybrid basis with at least 1 day/week working in our office based in Skopje.

Responsibilities

Technical Architecture

  • Front-end architectures:
Shape and maintain the front-end architectural vision, ensuring all solutions are robust, accessible, and high-performing.
  • Systems Design:
Lead the design of complex front-end systems, focusing on modularity, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Standard Setting:
Establish and evolve coding standards, best practices, and performance benchmarks that set the bar for the Digital team.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Technical Liaison:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and business stakeholders, translating complex technical trade-offs into business impact.
  • Requirement Refinement:
Partner with Product Owners and BAs to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical feasibility, defining rigorous acceptance criteria.
  • Risk Management:
Identify and communicate technical risks early, providing mitigation strategies to leadership and external partners.
  • Technical Sales Support:
Occasionally support high-level discovery phases with customers to validate technical approaches for new international projects.

Technical Influence & Mentorship

  • Technical Leadership:
While not a people manager, you will provide technical "gravity" guiding the direction of projects through code reviews, RFCs (Request for Comments), and architectural spikes.
  • Knowledge Sharing:
Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring senior engineers on advanced patterns and conducting "brown bag" sessions on emerging front-end trends.
  • Problem Solving:
Act as the ultimate escalation point for the most complex technical blockers, providing hands-on intervention when necessary.

Operational Excellence

  • Documentation:
Maintain a comprehensive library of architectural principles and technical decision records (ADRs) to ensure organizational alignment.

Requirements

Technical Mastery

  • Expert Core:
Mastery of TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and React.js.
  • Full-Stack Mindset:
Knowledge, or experience with Next.js is a big plus. Familiarity with server-side/client-side rendering patterns and self-hosting Node.js in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • UI/UX Precision:
Expertise in Tailwind CSS and a strong commitment to web accessibility (WCAG) and performance optimization.
  • Engineering Rigor:
Knowledge of front-end testing strategies (Jest) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for modern deployment management.

Soft Skills for the Individual Contributor

  • Strategic Communication:
Ability to influence stakeholders and "sell" technical debt reduction or architectural shifts to non-technical audiences.
  • Critical Thinking:
A high degree of analytical skill to decompose massive, international-scale problems into actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Autonomy:
A self-starter who identifies what needs to be fixed without waiting for a ticket or a manager's directive.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • driven
to push the boundaries and lead change and performance
  • communicative
to leave no-one in the dark and to work with your team successfully
  • reliable
so we know that we can call on you to meet deadlines
  • passionate
about the latest technologies and standards
  • proactive
to suggest improvements, identify and fix potential issues
  • solid
technically speaking, to advise both Clients and internal teams

Our people are key to our success and we pride ourselves on offering a dynamic, creative, innovative and supportive environment. Having the right combination of a 'can-do' approach, strong work ethic, integrity, friendliness and attention to detail is crucial.

Even if you don’t tick all the boxes for one particular role, but you have a keen interest in what we do, send us your details, we may find a suitable match during the interview process.

Deltatre consciously nurtures an environment where each and every team member feels safe to bring their whole selves to work, in which everyone is valued and respected for who they are and what they bring. Everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential, and every team member is expected to treat everyone with dignity and respect, value different perspectives, use inclusive language and work in alignment with Deltatre's commitment to diversity and inclusion. At Deltatre, everyone is welcome and celebrated.
