Job Description

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network services that

enable modern, container-based application platforms.

This role ensures highly available, secure, and scalable network connectivity across on‑premises, cloud,

and hybrid environments.

The engineer will work closely with Hosting, DevOps, and security teams to deliver resilient networking

future container orchestration platform.

  • Design and evolve container network architectures (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
  • Define IPAM, network segmentation, routing, and ingress/egress patterns.
  • Ensure secure connectivity across clusters, nodes, and external services.
  • Deploy and configure container networking plugins and network policies (zero trust).
  • Integrate container platforms with enterprise networking (firewalls, DNS, LB, proxies).
  • Build and automate connectivity across on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure SLA-backed network operations.
  • Implement network security controls and support compliance and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Communication, Decision making, Collaboration and conflict resolution
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English, German and/or French is an asset.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally experienced in Scaled Agile environment
  • Proven experience with Extreme Network products (77xx, 75xx, 74xx, 5420) as well as a good command of Extreme Fabric concept would be a strong asset
  • Knowledge of KVM solutions and network service delivery
  • Good understanding of Firewalling (CheckPoint)

Aufgaben

  • Design, Entwicklung und Wartung unserer cloudbasierten Backend-Systeme und Infrastruktur

  • Weiterentwicklung skalierbarer Services zur Verarbeitung und Speicherung von grossen mengen an Energie-, IoT- und (Echtzeit)-Zeitreihendaten

Qualifikation

Must-haves

  • Nachgewiesene Erfahrung als Software Engineer mit Schwerpunkt Backend

  • Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Python

  • Erfahrung mit APIs, Datenbanken und Cloud-Infrastrukturen

  • Verständnis für die Skalierung von Systemen

  • Motivation, sich in neue Technologien und Themenbereiche einzuarbeiten

About this role

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to strengthen our engineering team. In this role you will help design, build, and ship new functionality across our stack: From back-end services and cloud infrastructure to the applications our customers rely on inside recycling plants.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thinks end-to-end. You will take on real engineering challenges: reasoning through the logic, drafting the architecture, deciding how a solution should be deployed and served, and then implementing it. As a small, fast-moving startup, we need someone comfortable working across the full stack and able to own a challenge from idea to production, a true startup generalist.

Responsibilities

  • Take engineering challenges end-to-end - define the logic, draft the architecture, decide how the solution is deployed and served, and implement it. •
  • Design, build, and deploy back-end services and APIs on Google Cloud, using Cloud Run, VMs and Firebase Functions.•
  • Model, store, and serve data reliably with Firebase and NoSQL databases.•
  • Write clean, maintainable Python across services and internal tooling.•
  • Containerize and ship applications with Docker, using Git/GitHub for version control.•
  • Contribute to front-end applications (React, and potentially Swift-iOS).•

Requirements

  • A university degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field. •

  • Proven track record as a Full Stack Developer
  • Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and React. We use Next.js with Shadcn and Tailwind for styling
  • Solid backend experience. We use Go for our backend services, with REST/OpenAPI interfaces, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes on Google Cloud
  • Visual design sensibilities
  • Ability to establish reusable patterns & components for foundational functionality such as authentication, instrumentation, state management, deployment, etc.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork
  • Self-driven, hands-on mindset
