Role description

Meet Our Team

In addition to our passion for technology, we value an inclusive work environment and engaged community, care deeply of wellbeing of our employees by providing wellness programs and social initiatives.

Become part of our high-performance team focused on machine learning, AI, and speech recognition. As a core member of the team, you will solve interesting backend challenges while building distributed, resilient, fast, and modern cloud infrastructure that serves speech recognition and analysis capabilities at scale. Picture Yourself At Pega
Pega is changing the way the world builds software. In this role, you’ll help shape the next generation of Pega’s Voice AI capabilities by building reliable, scalable infrastructure for real-time speech recognition and analysis.

At Pega, we actively explore and embrace emerging AI capabilities with curiosity, responsibility, and a drive for meaningful innovation. You will work in an environment where AI-enabled tools are used to enhance learning, improve engineering efficiency, and support better decision-making across the cloud platform.

We expect engineers to apply critical thinking to all AI-generated outputs - validating accuracy, quality, and relevance before applying them in production environments. We view AI maturity as a spectrum, progressing from foundational adoption toward more strategic, advocacy-driven integration, and you will play an active role in that journey.

What You'll Do At Pega

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to build real-time speech recognition and natural language processing capabilities.
  • Develop scalable backend infrastructure that powers Voice AI experiences for thousands of customers.
  • Solve challenging distributed systems problems across reliability, latency, and performance.

  • Design and improve audio ingestion across cloud and on-premise channels.

Who You Are
You are a pragmatic backend engineer who enjoys turning advanced machine learning capabilities into reliable production systems. What You've Accomplished

  • You have min. 4 years of professional experience.
  • You have strong backend engineering fundamentals, understand network protocols, and can reason about what happens when an HTTP/1.1 request travels across the network.
  • You are comfortable with TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar backend languages, and you are curious enough about audio systems to understand how a WAV file is structured.
  • You understand how systems like Redis work internally, even though you know when using proven infrastructure is the better engineering choice.
  • You enjoy working with strong type systems, clear abstractions, and code that is easy to reason about.
  • You care about correctness and prefer tests that verify behavior, edge cases, and system invariants - not just implementation details.

Pega Offers You

  • A highly collaborative environment for designing and development of new ideas and features.
  • An ever-changing business landscape that adapts, scales and performs.
  • A culture where employees engage deeply, own outcomes and lead from the front.
  • Continuous learning and career opportunities – internal and external training opportunities.
  • An inclusive, agile, and flexible work environment (you can use our DYI lab, volunteer, or do other great things with us).
  • Permanent agreement and benefits package (bonus incentive, employee equity in the company, Medical and Group Insurance, Multisport, English & Polish lessons, Employee Assistance Program and that’s not all).
