Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join the Fastmarkets Software Engineering Team to help continue grow our technology and build a highly skilled team that will enable us to accelerate our product delivery and scale our business. This team develop, enhance and support our flagship digital platform, serving global customers with critical price data, news and analytics in the commodities markets we serve. We make this data and intelligence easily accessible through multiple channels including web, desktop, API, Excel and mobile iOS and Android applications, enabling customers to integrate our digital offering into their business workflows.

The Principal Software Engineer is a full-time position working within a Scrum team reporting to the Engineering Manager. In this technical role working as part of a global a team of Software Engineers, Business Analysts and Product Managers to successfully develop and deliver new features. This

includes contributing to major projects that make a difference to Fastmarkets customers both in our existing markets such as metals, forest products and agricultural commodity sectors.

Our technical stack is largely Microsoft .NET and cloud infrastructure is Azure and we seek to use the latest relevant technologies in our work. It is engineered for scalability and fault-tolerance with rich web and mobile UIs.

In this hands-on development role, you will be a senior member of the development team reporting to an Engineering Manager. As a Principal Engineer you will also be expected to contribute to the strategic and technical direction within the team to which you aligned. You will be a highly productive developer who is passionate about writing clean, quality code, building high-scale distributed systems that are fault-tolerant, with deep operational insights. You will take an engineering approach to developing new services and systems, favouring metrics over personal opinion or bias. You will have good communication skills and be able to mentor and help grow more junior developers, coaching them on good design, coding and software engineering practices. This is an individual contributor role, where you will be providing technical leadership.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Your Mission

You will work on the integration and development of the Infotainment or Body Electronics Software stack into a production environment

You will take responsibility for developing new Software components

You will design, document, implement and integrate your code.

You will test ruthlessly on component level in cross platform, as well as on real target and in actual vehicles.

Your Profile

  • You hold a degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field.
  • You are experienced in embedded software development using C and/or C++.
  • You are experienced with embedded systems and embedded signals processing.
  • You have experience in profiling and analysis of systems using RTOS.
  • You are proficient in vehicle bus technologies: Ethernet and SOME/IP (preferred), CAN, LIN, SPI
  • You have hands on experience in development of software components for an automotive platform.
  • You have ideally worked with Classic AUTOSAR, knowledge of Vector DaVinci tool chain is an advantage.
  • You have familiarity with ASPICE and ISO26262.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work on client-side code for both desktop and mobile versions of games

  • Learn and implement new tools and improved processes to support the Development team
