Platform Engineer

Engineering Manager / Team Lead - all genders welcome

Sykell

Berlinlead

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

First, a bit about us

Sykell is at the forefront of the circular economy, driving innovation in packaging systems that eliminate single-use waste. Our mission is to make reusables effortless for consumers and scalable for businesses. We work with major retailers, brands, and logistics providers to build technology that tracks, manages, and optimizes reusable packaging across supply chains.

We’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our core development teams. This is a dual-focus role: you’ll be leading a team of engineers while also engaging directly with clients to help them implement and scale our solution. If you’re excited by clean tech, circular logistics, and building real-world systems that create environmental impact, this is the role for you.

Your impact and what you'll own

  • Own and drive development on our core platform (Go, TypeScript/React, AWS) – you make the architectural calls and you make them count.
  • Continuously develop and improve our award-winning ERP system – a product making waves globally, with plenty more to build and conquer.
  • Lead and mentor an international team of 3 engineers – creating an environment where people take ownership and do their best work.
  • Be the technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders – building trust on both sides.
  • Collaborate closely with design, ops, and leadership to ship features that work.

The person who'll thrive here

  • You have a proven track record of actively building and running SaaS products in production – from early stage to what happens after go-live.
  • You bring deep experience in Go, TypeScript/React, and AWS – making architectural decisions and backing them up in code. Senior backend experience with Go as a primary language is a strong plus.
  • You understand how systems are composed – backend, frontend, data, automations, infrastructure – and can navigate across all of them.
  • You have experience leading and mentoring engineers – and you know that growing people is what makes a team truly thrive.
  • You love diving in and getting things done – you build, you test, you iterate, and you thrive on seeing things come to life.
  • You communicate with confidence – translating complex technical thinking into clear, compelling language for any audience, internal or external.

You’ll make our hearts sing if you’ve built ERP systems before, have a background in sustainability or the circular economy, or have worked with Flutter.

Why we genuinely think you'll love this

  • Purpose that shows up in the real world. You’re not building another SaaS dashboard – you’re reducing plastic waste and CO₂ emissions at scale. The people here are passionate about this mission – and that shared passion is what drives this team to succeed.
  • End-to-end ownership, every day. At sykell you touch the full stack, see how everything connects, and have the autonomy to shape, build and influence what you work on – and you see the results of that every single day.
  • We care about the people as much as the work. Flexible hours, flexible location – because people do their best work when they feel good about how they work.

Our note to you

Worried you don't tick every box? We'd love to hear from you anyway – we're looking for amazing people, not perfect CVs.

And something we stand for: we know great teams are diverse teams - we welcome everyone, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion or belief, disability, or age.

Role description

At Digital Turbine, we make mobile advertising experiences more meaningful and rewarding for users, app publishers, and advertisers — intelligently connecting people in more ways, across more devices. We provide app publishers and advertisers with powerful ads and experiences that captivate consumers, fuel performance, and help telecoms and OEMs supercharge awareness, acquisition, and monetization. In a rapidly evolving industry, we are constantly innovating and creating better paths of discovery to connect consumers, publishers, and advertisers across the mobile ecosystem.

Please note that Digital Turbine is a hybrid work environment-only candidates local to the posting location will be considered.
We’re always on the lookout for great engineering talent!
We want to learn about your passion and skills, and find the best match for you.
Join our talent community by applying here, and let’s stay connected for active and future roles.
The Role
Digital Turbine runs on small, autonomous pods that own an outcome and a roadmap end to end. We hire engineers, not language specialists: we care that you can reason about systems, pick the right tool for the problem, and ship reliable software across the stack.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll build the product surfaces that bring our marketplace together — campaign management and creation, unified dashboards and reporting, audience and asset tooling, and the APIs that connect demand to supply. You'll work across front-end, back-end, and data, contributing to the unified product architecture at the heart of our FY27 roadmap. The underlying platform requires heavy back-end engineering, low-latency optimization, and algorithmic problem-solving to manage massive throughput and real-time marketplace dynamics.

About The Senior Full Stack Engineer Role

  • Design and build full-stack features — from responsive web front-ends to back-end services and APIs — that power campaign management, reporting, and marketplace optimization
  • Choose the right language and tools for each problem (we run a polyglot stack), and keep the front end lightweight by pushing complex computational logic, data modeling, and heavy algorithmic weight into robust, scalable back-end services
  • Build and consume well-designed APIs that integrate DT products into a unified architecture rather than isolated silos
  • Own your services in production: testing, observability, performance, and on-call, treating quality as a whole-team responsibility
  • Collaborate directly with product leads and stakeholders, contributing to scoping, estimation, and technical decisions within your pod
  • Mentor teammates and raise engineering standards through code review, automation, and pragmatic architecture

About You As The Senior Full Stack

  • 8+ years building and shipping production platforms, with a heavy skew toward backend architecture, system design, and code optimization
  • Strong algorithmic fundamentals, data structures, and a proven track record of solving complex data-processing or resource optimization problems
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in more than one language/ecosystem (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Scala, or C++) — you optimize for the problem, not a single tool
  • Solid command of modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and back-end service design, plus relational and/or distributed data stores (MySQL, PostgreSQL, and similar)
  • Strong fundamentals in API design, data modeling, testing, and system design
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, agile, ownership-driven environment with limited hand-holding

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), containers, and CI/CD
  • Exposure to AdTech, dashboards/BI surfaces, or high-throughput data-driven products
  • Experience integrating ML or data services into product workflows
