Overview
Our client is an innovative medical robotics company developing a miniature robotic platform designed to navigate within the brain, enabling targeted biopsies and drug delivery for tumour treatment.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join their software team and contribute to the next generation of image-guided robotic technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop software applications used for surgical planning, navigation and robotic control.
- Build and maintain full stack applications using
Python
and
React.js
. - Develop image processing and visualization functionality for neurosurgical workflows.
- Work closely with robotics engineers to integrate software with hardware control systems.
- Contribute to navigation and targeting solutions using
medical imaging data. - Support software architecture, design, testing and deployment activities.
- Develop software within a regulated medical device environment.
- Participate in verification, validation and quality activities aligned with safety-critical development standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, robotics, biomedical and clinical specialists.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with
Python
. - Strong frontend development experience using
React.js
. - Experience developing
full stack software applications
. - Background in
medical device software
, healthcare technology, robotics or other regulated industries. - Experience with
medical imaging
,
image processing
, or visualization systems. - Knowledge of
safety-critical software development
practices. - Experience working on products that interact with hardware, robotics or embedded systems.
- Understanding of software architecture, testing and software lifecycle management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative R&D environment.
Highly Desirable
- Experience developing
neuronavigation
or
surgical navigation
software. - Experience within companies such as
Brainlab
,
Medtronic
,
Stryker Navigation
,
Zeiss
, or similar medical imaging and navigation organisations. - Exposure to
robotics software
. - Knowledge of
computer vision
and advanced image-processing techniques. - Familiarity with
IEC 62304
and medical device software development processes. - Experience integrating software with
embedded systems
or hardware platforms.
