We are adding a
Senior Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer
to a managed engagement supporting a client platform running Kubernetes in AWS production. You will focus on modernization work such as Terraform IaC, GitHub Actions CI/CD migration, tooling and JIRA/GitHub integrations, environment hardening, Symantec Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) integration, and Datadog observability upgrades. This is a fully remote position that offers you the flexibility to work from any location in Armenia, whether it's your home or well-equipped offices in Yerevan or Gyumri.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure for production web services and workers
- Deliver CI/CD modernization by designing and migrating GitHub Actions pipelines, plus optimizing and troubleshooting
- Support repository, tooling, and work management migrations, including GitHub and JIRA-related integrations
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform
- Strengthen deployment automation and support GitOps or declarative deployment practices
- Support AWS infrastructure and platform services such as RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudFront, Redis, and related components
- Improve environment hardening, access control, and secure infrastructure configuration
- Implement identity and access governance initiatives, including integration with enterprise IGA platforms
- Upgrade monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices using tools such as Datadog
- Join agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, implementation planning, and infrastructure reviews
- Produce documentation for infrastructure changes, operational runbooks, and handoff materials
- Partner with the client's teams to ensure updates meet security, compliance, and engineering quality standards
Requirements
- Professional 5+ years of experience across infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering
- Expertise operating Kubernetes in production and strong AWS cloud experience
- Solid proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Deep experience with CI/CD, including GitHub Actions pipeline design, migration, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on exposure to deployment automation, GitOps, or declarative infrastructure practices
- Strong understanding of cloud security, access control, RBAC, and least-privilege principles
- Experience supporting production infrastructure with monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysis
- Working familiarity with observability tooling, preferably Datadog
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Minimum availability of 4 hours daily overlap with US Eastern working hours
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure
- Experience with identity governance and administration platforms
- Familiarity with AWS RDS PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, S3, and CloudFront or similar cloud services
- Experience supporting repository migrations, CI/CD platform migrations, or work management tool integrations
- Experience working in enterprise security and compliance environments
- Familiarity with ISO 27001-aligned controls, GDPR-related requirements, and audit logging practices
- Experience working with distributed agile engineering teams
