as a member of the Austrian Group FREQUENTIS AG, is focused on software development, system engineering and delivery of safety-critical voice communication and information systems. Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments:
Air Traffic Management & Defence
(civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management),
Public Safety
(police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and
Public Transport & Maritime
(railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).

We are looking for an experienced
Senior Platform Engineer
to strengthen our
Network & Infrastructure Services
(NIS) organization and support the secure operation and continuous improvement of our platform environments.

In this role, you will work closely with Information Security Officers, infrastructure teams, and security specialists to implement security requirements, address audit findings, and ensure compliance across OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms, virtualization, and storage environments.

You will play a key role in defining platform standards, implementing security hardening measures, driving remediation activities, and ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure platform operations.

Working Model

  • Flexible hybrid working model with the possibility to work remotely
  • Regular travel to our Vienna office (approximately once per week) to support teamwork, knowledge sharing and project activities
  • Company cars are available for business trips to Vienna

Key Tasks

  • Implement security requirements and audit findings defined by Information Security Officers and security teams across platform environments
  • Design, deploy, and operate OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms
  • Apply system hardening measures, security configurations, and remediation activities in line with compliance requirements
  • Define platform standards, best practices, and architectural principles
  • Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD approaches
  • Create and maintain reusable platform templates and deployment standards
  • Integrate monitoring, logging, and security controls into platform environments
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization
  • Ensure the scalability, resilience, and secure operation of platform services
  • Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure secure and compliant platform operations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform security and operational practices

Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms and a solid understanding of cluster-based environments
  • Strong Linux administration background
  • Experience with system hardening and implementation of security controls
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and security-related operational activities
  • Strong understanding of OpenShift/Kubernetes platform architecture and operations
  • Experience with automation concepts, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and security integration within platform environments
  • Experience defining platform standards and supporting platform lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of Nutanix is considered an advantage
  • Experience with cloud-based environments (e.g. Azure) is considered an advantage
  • Ability to translate security and compliance requirements into practical technical implementations
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex platform environments
