Deine Rolle
Als Senior Simulation Engineer entwickelst du Simulationsmodelle und -umgebungen für komplexe technische Systeme und schaffst damit eine wichtige Grundlage für Designentscheidungen, Testing sowie Verifikation und Validierung.

Du übersetzt physikalische, mathematische und technische Zusammenhänge in belastbare Modelle, führst aerodynamische, flugdynamische und systembezogene Simulationen durch und analysierst deren Ergebnisse hinsichtlich Plausibilität und Aussagekraft.

Dabei arbeitest du eng mit System Engineering, Softwareentwicklung, Architektur, QA, Testing und Projektleitung zusammen und stellst sicher, dass Simulationsergebnisse nachvollziehbar dokumentiert und gezielt in unsere Entwicklungs- und Verifikationsprozesse eingebracht werden.

Wir suchen eine analytisch starke und technisch versierte Persönlichkeit, die komplexe physikalische Systeme versteht, belastbare Simulationsmodelle entwickelt und Freude daran hat, Simulation als integralen Bestandteil moderner Engineering-Prozesse weiterzuentwickeln.

Anforderungen
Das bringst du mit

  • Aus- und Weiterbildung: Du verfügst über ein Studium in Aerospace Engineering, Maschinenbau, Physik, Mathematik, Systemtechnik oder einer vergleichbaren technischen oder naturwissenschaftlichen Fachrichtung.
  • Berufserfahrung: Du bringst mehrjährige Erfahrung als Simulation Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Flight Dynamics Engineer, Modelling Engineer oder in einer vergleichbaren technischen Funktion mit, idealerweise in Aviation, Aerospace, Defence, Automotive oder einem anderen anspruchsvollen technischen Umfeld.
  • Technisches Verständnis: Du verfügst über ein sehr gutes Fundament in Physik, Mathematik, Aerodynamik, Mechanik oder verwandten Ingenieurdisziplinen und hast Erfahrung mit aerodynamischen, flugdynamischen oder systembezogenen Simulationen.
  • Organisationstalent: Du strukturierst komplexe Simulationsaufgaben, Modellannahmen, Abhängigkeiten und technische Fragestellungen systematisch und behältst auch bei umfangreichen Analysen den Überblick.
  • Qualitätsbewusstsein: Du legst grossen Wert auf belastbare Modelle, nachvollziehbare Annahmen, reproduzierbare Simulationen und eine fundierte Validierung der Ergebnisse.
  • Pragmatische Arbeitsweise: Du gehst komplexe physikalische und technische Fragestellungen analytisch an, abstrahierst sie auf geeignete Modelle und entwickelst praktikable Lösungen mit angemessener Modellierungstiefe.
  • Kommunikationsfähigkeit: Du kannst komplexe Simulationsergebnisse und technische Zusammenhänge verständlich vermitteln und arbeitest konstruktiv mit unterschiedlichen Engineering-Disziplinen und Projektteams zusammen.

Your Role
As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will develop simulation models and environments for complex technical systems, creating a crucial foundation for design decisions, testing, and verification and validation.

You will translate physical, mathematical and technical relationships into robust models, conduct aerodynamic, flight dynamics and system-related simulations, and analyse their results for plausibility and significance.

In this role, you will work closely with Systems Engineering, Software Development, Architecture, QA, Testing and Project Management, ensuring that simulation results are documented in a traceable manner and are purposefully integrated into our development and verification processes.

We are looking for an analytically strong and technically adept individual who understands complex physical systems, develops robust simulation models, and enjoys advancing simulation as an integral part of modern engineering processes.

Requirements
Who are we looking for

  • Education: You hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering or a comparable technical or scientific discipline.
  • Professional Experience: You have several years of experience as a Simulation Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Flight Dynamics Engineer, Modelling Engineer or in a comparable technical role, ideally in aviation, aerospace, defence, automotive or another demanding technical environment.
  • Technical Understanding: You have a very strong foundation in physics, mathematics, aerodynamics, mechanics or related engineering disciplines and experience with aerodynamic, flight dynamics or system-related simulations.
  • Organisational Skills: You structure complex simulation tasks, model assumptions, dependencies and technical issues systematically and maintain an overview even with extensive analyses.
  • Quality Awareness: You place great value on robust models, traceable assumptions, reproducible simulations and thorough validation of results.
  • Pragmatic Approach: You approach complex physical and technical issues analytically, abstract them into suitable models and develop practical solutions with an appropriate level of modelling depth.
  • Communication Skills: You can convey complex simulation results and technical relationships in an understandable manner and work constructively with different engineering disciplines and project teams.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Consultant SAP Integration to join our SAP Technology team in Zurich. In this strategic assignment, you'll play a critical role of developing and managing complex integration projects, while ensuring the performance, stability, and security of SAP integrations. The Senior Technical Consultant SAP Integration shall report to the SAP Integration lead and work in synergy with SAP Development and SAP Basis workstreams, as well as other SAP functional teams.

As a Senior Technical Consultant SAP Integration, you will:

  • Design, develop, and manage integration architectures using SAP Integration Suite, SAP PO/PI, API Management, and other relevant tools.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to define integration requirements and ensure end-to-end solution consistency.
  • Ensure smooth operations of all integration interfaces and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Drive the adoption of integration best practices, security standards, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Support and mentor a other team members, providing technical guidance and reviewing deliverables.
  • Support project delivery teams in integration-related tasks throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Heavily contribute to the cloud adoption journey of SIKA in the integration space.
  • Stay current with SAP’s latest integration technologies and trends (e.g., Event Mesh, BTP, APIs, CDS Views).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience with SAP integration technologies.

  • Strong hands-on experience in:

    • SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management)
    • Experience with UDFs, Java or Groovy
    • SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Orchestration)
    • Experience with OData, REST, SOAP APIs
    • Solid understanding of BTP (Business Technology Platform)
    • Event-driven architecture and event brokers (SAP event mesh, AEM is a plus)
    • Experience with IDoc, RFC, ALE, EDI and other SAP integration standards/protocols
    • Solid understanding of cloud and hybrid integration scenarios.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Fluent in English. Spanish and German are a plus.
    • SAP certification in Integration Suite or similar is a differentiator.

What you will do:

  • Put cutting-edge AI weather models to the test and evaluate their value for energy forecasting
  • Build data pipelines and tools to process, analyze, and visualize weather forecast data
  • Support the daily operations of the meteorology desk, including weather briefings, forecast monitoring, and ad-hoc analyses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to further develop innovative forecasting solutions
  • Analyze forecast data and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations
  • Contribute your own ideas and support continuous improvement of workflows and tools

What you bring & who you are:

  • Ongoing or completed BSc or MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in Python and experience working with NetCDF and GRIB data formats
  • Foundational knowledge of deep learning, ideally with PyTorch, and an understanding of transformer and graph neural network architectures
  • Interest in meteorology and atmospheric science, including familiarity with the AI weather model landscape
  • Ideally, first experience with forecast verification, backtesting, fine-tuning, or downscaling models
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with fluent English, both written and spoken
