Team mission

The API Platform team enables product and engineering teams across GetYourGuide to build fast, reliable, customer- and supplier-facing experiences by owning and evolving our GraphQL API layer. We define the standards, tooling, and infrastructure that govern how data flows from our services to our clients — at scale, with high availability, and under constant traffic from millions of travelers.

Your mission

  • Own and evolve the GraphQL API layer serving our most critical customer-facing surfaces, including search, discovery, and checkout.
  • Design schemas and query patterns that balance flexibility for consumers with performance and reliability at scale.
  • Establish and enforce API Platform standards: schema governance, deprecation policies, federation patterns, and query complexity controls.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks — N+1 patterns, over-fetching, slow resolvers — in production systems under real traffic.
  • Partner with product engineering teams as an internal platform owner: unblock them, onboard them, and raise the quality bar across the org.
  • Drive observability: query tracing, latency analysis, and SLA monitoring for the GraphQL layer.
  • Mentor engineers across the org on GraphQL best practices.

Your toolkit

  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on GraphQL in a production environment.
  • Deep, hands-on GraphQL expertise: schema design, federation (Apollo Federation or equivalent), resolvers, dataloader patterns, persisted queries, and query cost analysis.
  • Proven track record operating GraphQL at scale — high-throughput, customer-facing APIs where reliability and latency directly affect user experience.
  • Strong grasp of distributed systems: how to design services that are observable, resilient, and easy to reason about under load.
  • Fluency in at least one of: Java, Go, or Node.js.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage stakeholders; known for good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft. You find mentoring and sharing knowledge fulfilling.
  • Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Extras that give you an edge

  • Familiarity with caching strategies for GraphQL (CDN-level, persisted queries, response caching).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or managing APIs as a product.
  • Prior experience working in the e-commerce space.
  • Prior experience in start-up environments.

How we’ll make your career journey extraordinary

  • Annual personal growth budget and mentorship programs for continuous learning and development
  • Work from anywhere in the world for 30 days per year
  • A hybrid working approach with three days of in office collaboration (Mon, Tue, Thur) and two days of optional at home focus time.
  • Opportunities to collaborate and socialize with team members through quarterly team events and yearly company-wide events
  • Monthly transportation and fitness budget
  • Discounts for you, your friends, and family on GetYourGuide activities
  • Language reimbursement program
  • Health and wellness benefits

And more…

About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About The Role
Production experience required. Builder mindset non-negotiable.

Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers — experienced Technical Builders who design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You'll work as part of a delivery team, partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist (Strategic Builder - a customer-facing advisor who shapes AI strategy and drives adoption) to co-build solutions that go live in production environments from day one. Engagements range from a single large strategic customer to multiple accounts simultaneously. The common thread is real code, real environments, and measurable business impact. This work spans configuration, customisation, and full-stack deployment — shipping solutions customers depend on.

The Builder Experience

  • AI-Powered Development: Ship real customer solutions, supported by best-in-class AI tools — Cursor, Claude, and Salesforce coding products like Vibes — embedded into your day-to-day workflow.
  • Collaborative Delivery: You'll work alongside Senior Forward Deployed Engineers and a Deployment Strategist. You'll own real components, benefit from structured mentorship from people who've shipped agentic systems at scale, and have a clear path to leading complex deliveries yourself.
  • Frontier Access: Our agentic AI platform is evolving in real time. You'll work on capabilities most engineers won't touch for months — spanning Agentforce, data, platform, and headless architectures and your field insight will feed directly to the product teams building them.
  • Continuous Innovation: You'll be expected to stay at the forefront, experimenting with emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks, and sharing what you learn with your team and customers.

What You'll Actually Be Building

  • Develop AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organisations. Our solutions are in production at some of the largest enterprises on the planet. The work matters because the customers depend on it.
  • Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems, leveraging our Agentic AI platform and current LLM techniques.
  • Own technical components end-to-end: from architecture choice to deployed, validated, and observable in production.
  • Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms. Model the data, ship the pipeline, validate the output
  • Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs that move from sketch to deployable in days, not months.
  • Co-build alongside customers and partners, sharing best practices and enablement as you go. Leaving teams more capable after each engagement than before.
  • Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior Engineers and the product team. Your real-world experience is the product feedback loop.
  • Partner with the Deployment Strategist in your pod to translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions that actually ship.

You're Our Forward Deployed Engineer If…

  • Your fluent in German and English
  • You have 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system you'd be proud to walk us through - ideally in an AI tech stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier models
  • You have a degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • You have prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering) — this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • You're fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex — and willing to add to that list as the work demands.
  • You've been hands-on with LLMs and prompt engineering. You can explain why a prompt failed and what you'd change.
  • You understand data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns deeply enough to design them, not just consume them.
  • You can hold your own in a room with sales teams and customer architects.
  • You ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigor.
  • You actively tinker with the evolving AI/data landscape — piloting new tools, experimenting with new models, and staying genuinely curious about what's coming next.
  • You thrive in the group chat that's building something, not just talking about it.
  • You're excited to travel ~25% of the time, working directly alongside customers.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist)
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and orchestration patterns
  • Hands-on with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
  • Experience across specialist AI delivery areas: data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance and
be your best
, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you can
do your best
. Together, we’ll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future — but to redefine what’s possible — for yourself, for AI, and the world.

Platform Engineer

Customer Cloud Engineer

Hawk

Munichfulltime

Apply on the employer's site

Role description

About Us
Hawk is the leading provider of AI-supported anti-money laundering and fraud detection technology. Banks and payment providers globally are using Hawk’s powerful combination of traditional rules and explainable AI to improve the effectiveness of their AML compliance and fraud prevention by identifying more crime while maximizing efficiency by reducing false positives. With our solution, we are playing a vital role in the global fight against Money Laundering, Fraud, or the financing of terrorism. We offer a culture of mutual trust, support and passion – while providing individuals with opportunities to grow professionally and make a difference in the world.

Why this role exists
Customer Cloud is a critical part of Hawk’s growth. It enables customers to run Hawk AI in their own cloud environment, meeting regulatory, security, and data residency requirements.

Today, Customer Cloud relies too heavily on bespoke work. Pre-sales often requires deep engineering input, deployments take longer than they should, and operational responsibility is not evenly distributed.

We are standardising and simplifying this so Customer Cloud becomes easier to sell, faster to deploy, and simpler to operate at scale.

This role exists to help drive that shift. You will help turn Customer Cloud from a bespoke, engineer-heavy process into a standardised, repeatable product.

You will approach Customer Cloud as a platform problem, turning one-off solutions into automation, patterns, and scalable, reusable systems.

What You’ll Do
You will work across the full lifecycle of Customer Cloud environments, building the systems, automation, and patterns that make Customer Cloud easier to sell, faster to deploy, and simpler to operate at scale. You will take ownership of the systems and patterns that make Customer Cloud scalable.

Enable technical pre-sales

  • Work with our Sales and Customer Success teams to help them answer technical questions during the sales process.
  • Provide clear guidance on architecture, deployment approaches, and operational expectations so teams can confidently land new Customer Cloud customers.

Standardise onboarding and deployment

  • Turn Customer Cloud onboarding into a fast, repeatable process.
  • Build automation, tooling, and deployment patterns that reduce environment setup from months to days (or even hours) and remove unnecessary manual effort.

Build reliable, operable environments

  • Design and evolve deployment patterns that ensure Customer Cloud environments are stable, observable, and easy to operate.
  • Work across platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenShift, and Tanzu to reliably run Hawk across different customer infrastructure environments.

Enable scalable operations and support

  • Partner with the Technical Support team and engineering teams to resolve complex issues, capture operational knowledge, and turn solutions into runbooks, tooling, and documentation.
  • The goal is simple: reduce repeat issues and minimise day-to-day engineering involvement in support.

What Good Looks Like

  • We deploy new customer environments quickly and consistently
  • Pre-sales questions are answered quickly using clear patterns and documentation
  • Customer Cloud environments go live quickly and predictably
  • Fewer incidents caused by environment inconsistencies
  • Technical Support resolves most issues without engineering involvement
  • Customer Cloud becomes a predictable, scalable part of the business

What You’ll Need

  • Solid experience building and operating cloud-native systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised applications
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Ability to debug and resolve issues across infrastructure and application layers
  • Comfort working across build and operate, not just feature development
  • Clear, structured thinking: you simplify rather than complicate

Nice to have

  • Experience with OpenShift or VMware Tanzu
  • Familiarity with data-heavy systems (e.g. OpenSearch, Kafka, databases)
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers or regulated environments
  • Exposure to CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation

How We Work

  • We optimise for outcomes, not activity
  • We build for scale, not one-off success
  • We reduce complexity wherever possible
  • We take ownership end-to-end

The opportunity
Customer Cloud will be a major driver of Hawk’s enterprise growth. Done well, it becomes a competitive advantage. Done badly, it slows everything down. You’ll be in the middle of that shift, helping us build a Customer Cloud platform that scales with the business rather than slowing it down.
