About The Role
As a Senior Software Developer at Checkout.com, you will be embedded within the Identity Verification Team, a critical function focused on building innovative products to verify the identities of individuals and businesses globally.

In this high-impact role, you will be instrumental in the development of next-generation verification features, deploying intelligent, production-ready solutions by leveraging state-of-the-art Orchestration technologies as well as Generative AI and Computer Vision technologies.

You will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with Product, DevOps, DataScientist, and Data teams to ensure successful, end-to-end delivery of these solutions, while constantly researching and integrating emerging technologies. A core part of your contribution will be safeguarding data integrity and ensuring compliance, and translating complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders to support informed, data-driven decision-making across Checkout.com.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Drive the design and development of innovative, complex and scalable applications for real-world identity verification challenges in a wider microservices using industry best practices.
  • Take full ownership of new and existing features and service, managing the end-to-end lifecycle from initial conceptualization and design through to deployment and monitoring in a production environment.
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Risk) across the company to maximize the positive impact of data science initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of technical excellence, cross-team learning, and knowledge sharing within the Data organization.
  • Be part of, and collaborate with, cross-functional teams including product management, across a large engineering community.
  • Write clean, maintainable, extendable and testable code on some of Checkout’s most impactful systems.
  • Build, own and operate your systems to the highest levels of resilience and service.
  • Mentor junior team members and assist in their technical development

What Are We Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer working with complex, large-scale, and diversified applications and tech stacks.
  • Proficiency in C# .NET, with a strong understanding of software development principles in either a backend or full stack environment.
  • Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Someone who is AI proficient or AI curious, you will be hungry to embrace what the latest technology has to offer to enhance yours and your teams productivity
  • Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Cloud and Infrastructure technologies like AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, prometheus...
  • Experience with Databases like Postgresql, Mongo, Redis, ...

About The Role
Camunda is going through the AI-First transformation, and we are looking for a
Senior Software Engineer
to join our
Engineering Operations Team
. As part of this high-impact platform team, you will play a key role in fostering engineering excellence by creating, implementing and maintaining scalable core processes to enhance development efficiency, reliability, and quality within the Camunda 8 code bases, as well as the Engineering-wide organization processes.

As Camunda 8 evolves into the leader of the agentic orchestration market, your mission is to ensure our internal development lifecycle is just as autonomous and gets us there in a frictionless manner. You will work with infrastructure and core software engineering teams to ensure smooth workflows, robust dependency management, and continuous improvement of CI processes in the era of AI-first development; enabling the Camunda 8 engineering teams to focus better on the core product development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • AI-Augmented Engineering: Lead the shift toward an automated engineering lifecycle by implementing and orchestrating unified processes in the Camunda 8 repos - including AI-assisted processes like release management, autonomous dependency updates, and proactive CVE remediation.
  • Continuously optimize CI/release health and development velocity using a metric-driven approach to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in our AI-first workflows
  • Collaborate with the key stakeholders to implement the CI strategy and engineering best practices, by creating a positive impact within the Engineering organization.
  • Identify friction points in engineering workflows and evolve them into automated, self-sustaining systems that can handle the increased volume of an AI-augmented workforce - by effectively partnering with software engineers, engineering leaders and cross-team stakeholders

What You Bring
Must Haves:

  • Strong Software Engineering experience with a track record of delivering results (preferably, in Java)
  • Specialization: Fullstack or Backend
  • Passion for engineering operational excellence beyond writing code, including CI/CD optimization, dependency management, release process enhancements, metrics collection, and build efficiency (DevOps mindset), and track record of owning and developing engineering processes end-to-end
  • Strong experience in CI build tools (GitHub Actions, Java ecosystem - Maven, Docker) and automations (Shell/Python) in complex projects (e.g. monorepositories)
  • Being a strong collaborator across teams and delivering impactful solutions in a platform-like environment.
  • Experience in developer experience tools and process optimization & driving AI adoption

You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software. You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset

, which aims to improve security monitoring coverage by identifying and addressing monitoring blind spots across different business units and technologies.

The role focuses on
onboarding new data sources and assets into Azure Data Explorer (ADX)
, ensuring that security logs are properly collected, parsed, normalized, and validated for effective monitoring and threat detection. A key responsibility is the development of
